Study programme aims and objectives
The aim of the curriculum is to prepare professionals who are able to plan,
assess and solve the challenges related to the green transition in business and industry, based on their knowledge and skills acquired within the curriculum in the field of sustainable entrepreneurship and the circular economy. The curriculum offers an interdisciplinary undergraduate program for those who want to make a significant contribution to the transition to resource-efficient and sustainable entrepreneurship. Learning outcomes of the study programme
After completing the curriculum, the graduate:
- knows the basic concepts and processes of sustainable business and associates them with real economic activity;
- knows the basic principles of the circular economy and applies them to find solutions and is able to analyse the life cycles of a product/service in several layers;
- designs and critically evaluates sustainable business models taking into account the principles of responsible business and ethics;
- is able to formulate sustainability strategies taking into account environmental constraints, define and plan marketing, financial accounting, finance and supply chain activities in the context of effective business activities;
- knows green technologies and is able to plan their use in business processes;
- uses the communication and digital technologies and communication skills necessary for work and is able to independently lead change management involving interdisciplinary teams. Show more...
Graduation requirements
Completion of the curriculum in the required amount, and successfully passing the bachelor's exam according to the rules established by the Senate of TalTech.

Aims
The aim of this module is to:
- acquaint the student with the content of the chosen specialty and the structure of the curriculum;
- develop knowledge and skills that broaden horizons and provide a basis for acquiring further competencies in the field of economics, entrepreneurship and the circular economy;
- develop logical and structured thinking by creating a skill base for economic mathematical solutions and data analysis;
- introduce the basic concepts and regularities of economics to understand economic processes and the mechanisms of their action;
- provide knowledge of the basic principles of the functioning of ICT.
According to the chosen subjects, provide knowledge and skills in both Estonian and English for oral and written self-expression, including in academic style, and the use of various communication techniques for effectively managing teamwork and working in a multicultural environment. Show more...
Learning outcomes
After completing this module, the student:
- understands the content of the specialty and its application possibilities;
- knows the basic principles of the circular economy and its constituent elements;
- is familiar with the basic concepts of economics and the regularities of economics at both the micro and macro levels, incl. interprets macroeconomic indicators and analyses the connections and causes of simpler macroeconomic processes;
- is able to mathematically interpret economic problems, set simpler economic mathematical tasks and statistical hypotheses and solve them;
- knows the principles of operation of ICT tools and the basics of algorithmic thinking;
- has selectively strengthened his/her knowledge and skills in professional English, self-expression in Estonian, the use of presentation and communication techniques and the management of teamwork, including in a multicultural environment.

Aims
The aim of this module is to:
- develop students' entrepreneurial knowledge and skills,
including the development and management of sustainable business models based on the principles of the circular economy, and to support the development of personality traits and attitudes that support students' entrepreneurship;
- develop knowledge and basic skills of the basic business functions by creating for the student a holistic picture of the processes of the company and their management, planning and implementation in the transition to a sustainable and circular economic model;
- develop an understanding of responsible business and sustainable accounting based on international standards and guidelines;
- provide an overview of the legal aspects of a sustainable society and the role of state and public policies in the implementation of sustainability goals;
- develop both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in project development and management;

incl. is able to assess one's suitability as an entrepreneur;
- plans and evaluates sustainable business models and is able to give examples of their application in different business environments;
- is familiar with the basic terminology, theoretical approaches and concepts of the main functions of business and is able to see the connections between them in the context of the transition to a sustainable and circular economic model;
- knows the basic principles of responsible business and is familiar with the ESG framework and principles, incl. is able to prepare ESG reporting;
- clarifies and implements legal regulations and policies related to the green deal and circular economy;
- have selectively strengthened their knowledge and skills of the basics of social entrepreneurship, environmental protection and the basic concepts of sustainable development, the foundations and solutions of digital production, the use of renewable energy sources, labour law in the digital society and the solution of risk and safety problems in the working environment.
