course aims in Estonian
Õppeaine eesmärk on anda:
- teadmised toodete ja teenuste olelusringi tootedisaini etapi rollist ringmajanduslike eesmärkide tagamisel;
- teadmised disainmõtlemisest ning tootedisaini alustest;
- teadmised esmase ja tesisese toorme rakendamisest jätkusuutlikus tootmises;
- ülevaade kriitiliste ja prioriteetsete materjalidest valitud tööstustes (nt keemia ja materjalitööstuses jne);
- ülevaade ringkasutuse ja väärindamisega seotud riskidest;
- teadmisi lähtematerjalide asendatavusest, protsessi kvaliteeti tagamise süsteemist ja nii lähtematerjalide kui lõpptoodete kvaliteedi analüüsist;
- teadmised ringmajandusliku disaini reguleerivatest Eesti ja Euroopa õigusaktidest ning nende sisust.

The aim of this course is to:
- provide knowledge of the fundamentals of product design;
- provide knowledge of the role of product design in the life cycle of products and services in achieving circular economy goals;
- provide knowledge of the use of primary and secondary raw materials in sustainable production;
- give an overview of critical and priority materials in selected industries (e.g., chemistry and materials industries, etc.) and metrics for sustainable production;
- provide an overview of the risks associated with recycling and valorization;
- provide knowledge of the substitutability of source materials, the quality assurance system of the process, and the analysis of both source materials and final products' quality.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- mõistab tootedisaini põhialuseid ja selle tähtsust erinevates tööstusharudes;
- saab aru tootedisaini rollist ringmajanduse ja jätkusuutlikkuse saavutamisel;
- teab, kuidas kasutada jätkusuutlikes tootmisprotsessides esmaseid ja teiseseid toormeid ning tuvastab strateegilisi ja kriitilisi materjale kursusel käsitletud tööstusharudes;
- hindab ringmajanduse põhimõtete kontekstis ringlussevõtu ja väärindamisega seotud riske;
- omab teadmisi lähtematerjalide asendatavusest, tootmisprotsesside kvaliteedikinnitussüsteemidest ning analüüsib lähtematerjalide ja lõpptoodete kvaliteeti kursusel käsitletud tootmistes;
- on tutvunud ringmajanduse disaini reguleerivate õigusaktidega nii Eestis kui ka Euroopas ning mõistab nende mõju ettevõtetele ja tööstusharudele.

After completing this course, the student:
- understands the fundamentals of product design and its importance in various industries;
- recognizes the role of product design in achieving circular economy objectives and sustainability goals;
- knows, how to use primary and secondary raw materials in sustainable manufacturing processes and identifies strategic and critical materials in case studied industries;
- assesses the risks associated with recycling and valorization in the context of circular economy principles;
- has acquired knowledge about the substitutability of source materials, quality assurance systems in production processes, and analyzes the quality of source materials and final products;
- is familiar with the regulatory laws governing circular economy design in both Estonia and Europe and understands their implications for businesses and industries.

Tootedisaini põhialused:
- Sissejuhatus tootedisaini põhimõtetesse ja kontseptsioonidesse.
- Tootedisaini roll erinevates tööstusharudes ja selle olulisus.

Tootedisain ringmajanduse ja jätkusuutlikkuse kontekstis:
- Ringmajanduse põhimõtete ja eesmärkide mõistmine.
- Kuidas tootedisain aitab saavutada ringmajanduse eesmärke ja jätkusuutlikkuse eesmärke.

Esmase ja teisese toorme kasutamine jätkusuutlikus tootmises:
- Jätkusuutlikud tootmisprotsessid ja nende keskkonnamõju.
- Esmase ja teisese tooraine kasutamine tootmises.
- Strateegiliste ja kriitiliste resursside tuvastamine konkreetsetes juhtumiuuringutes.

Ringlussevõtu ja väärindamisega seotud riskid:
- Ringlussevõtu ja väärtustamisega seotud riskide hindamine.
- Keskkonna- ja majandusteguritega arvestamine ringlussevõtu ja väärindamise kontekstis.

Toorme asendatavus, kvaliteedi tagamine ja analüüs:
- Lähtematerjalide asendatavus tootmisprotsessides.
- Kvaliteedisüsteemid tootmises.
- Lähtematerjalide ja lõpptoodete kvaliteedi määramise meetodid.

Ringmajandusega seotud õigusaktid:
- Ülevaade ringmajandusliku tegevusega seotud õigusaktidest Eestis ja Euroopas.
- Õigusliku raamistiku mõistmine ja selle mõju ettevõtetele ja tööstusharudele.
