Õppeaine eesmärk on:
- luua arusaam erialast;
- tutvustada eriala ja sellega seotud ettevõtteid;
- toetada õpioskuste arendamist ja karjääri planeerimist;
- õppida akadeemilist kirjutamist ja üliõpilastööde vormistamist;
- tutvustada TalTechi õppekorraldust.

The aim of this course is to:
- create an understanding of the profession;
- introduce the profession and related companies;
- support development and career training planning;
- to acquire academic writing and drafting skills for compiling effective written tasks;
- introduce the TalTech study organization.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
-kirjeldab TalTechi õppekorralduse põhialuseid;
-kirjeldab oma õppekava eriala olemust ja võimalikke töövaldkondi;
-toob näiteid erialaga seotud ettevõtetest ja selgitab nende rolli valdkonnas;
-rakendab algtasemel õpioskusi (nt aja planeerimine, märkmete tegemine, õppimise kavandamine) oma igapäevases õppetöös;
-koostab allikatele tuginedes vormistus- ja viitamisreegleid järgiva referaadi ning esitleb selle põhisisu.

After completing this course the student:
- describes the basic principles of academic organization at TalTech;
- describes the nature of their curriculum specialty and possible fields of work;
- provides examples of companies related to their field and explains their role in the sector;
- applies basic study skills (e.g., time management, note-taking, study planning) in their everyday studies;
- prepares a report based on sources, following formatting and referencing rules, and presents its main content.
