VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
course aims in English
The aim of the course is to give a student possibility to acquire basic knowledge in the field of rare earth elements and rare metals chemistry and technology; to teach to apply obtained theoretical knowledge in practice; to enlarge and to deepen skills of experiment carrying out and its results interpretation.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine sooritanud üliõpilane: (1) tunneb haruldaste muldelementide ja haruldaste metallide füüsikalisi ja keemilisi omadusi, kasutusalasid, tooraineid ja tooraine töötlemise meetodeid; (2) oskab kirjeldada ja analüüsida tootmisprotsessi, tehnoloogilisi seadmeid, riske ja ohtusid, keskkonnaprobleeme; (3) oskab teha tehnoloogilisi arvutusi (materjalibilansside koostamine, kulukoefitsientide, saagise, selektiivsuse jm arvutamine); (4) oskab omandatud teoreetilisi teadmisi kasutada eksperimendi läbiviimisel; (5) oskab iseseisvalt kasutada kirjandusallikaid (sh võõrkeelseid) uurimisprobleemi lahendamisel.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After passing the course a student: (1) knows physical and chemical properties of rare earth elements and rare metals; (2) can describe and analyse production process, technological equipment, risks and hazards, environmental problems; (3) can make simple technological calculations (to compile material balance, to calculate norms for consumption of raw material, product yield, selectivity etc.); (4) is able to apply the obtained theoretical knowledge for experiment carrying out; (5) can independently use literature sources (including in foreign language) when solving a research problem.
