Aine eesmärk on anda õppijale ülevaade automaatika põhimõistetest ja kasutusvaldkondadest, teadmised ning oskused tehnosüsteemide kaugjälgimisest ja -juhtimisest, keskkonnaparameetrite automaatreguleerimisest ning fikseerimisest.

The aim of this course is to provide the learner with an overview of the basic concepts and areas of use of automation, knowledge, and skills in remote monitoring and control of technical systems, automatic adjustment, and fixation of environmental parameters.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- tunneb automaatika ja automaatjuhtimise põhimõisteid;
- selgitab automaatjuhtimissüsteemide elementide (andurite, võimendite, täiturite) ja eri regulaatorite tööpõhimõtteid ning kasutusalasid;
- tunneb tootmisprotsesside põhiliste tehnoloogiliste parameetrite (rõhk, kulu, nivoo, temperatuur, tihedus, niiskus, pH jt) mõõtmise ja kontrolli seadmeid;
- oskab lahti mõtestada lihtsamaid automaatikaseadmete struktuurskeeme;
- analüüsib keemiatehnoloogia protsesse juhtimisobjektide seisukohalt;
- oskab lugeda keemiatehnoloogia tüüpiliste protsesside automaatjuhtimise skeeme.

After completing this course, the student:
- is familiar with the basic concepts of automation and automatic control;
- explains the principles of operation and uses of the elements of automatic control systems (sensors, amplifiers, actuators) and various regulators;
- knows the equipment for measuring and controlling the basic technological parameters of production processes (pressure, consumption, level, temperature, density, humidity, pH, etc.);
- deciphers simpler structural diagrams of automation devices;
- analyzes chemical engineering processes from the point of view of control objects;
- is able to read the diagrams of automatic control of typical processes in chemical engineering.

Tootmisprotsesside automaatreguleerimise olemus. Automaatika areng. Automaatreguleerimissüsteemid. Klassifikatsioon. Süsteemi põhielemendid: andurid, primaarmõõteriistad, muundurid, kontrollseadmed, sekundaarmõõteriistad. Tootmisprotsesside põhiliste tehnoloogiliste parameetrite (rõhk, kulu, nivoo, temperatuur, tihedus, niiskus, pH jt) mõõtmine ja kontroll. Automaatikavahendite tingmärgid. Automaatreguleerimise tehnoloogilised objektid. Automaatregulaatorid. Reguleerimisseadused. Regulaatorite valik. Automaatreguleerimissüsteemide koostamine. Keemiatehnoloogias kasutatavate tüüpiliste tehnoloogiliste protsesside põhiparameetrite kontroll. Pidevate, poolpidevate ja perioodiliste tehnoloogiliste protsesside automatiseerimine. Juhtimisprotsesside esitamine arvutis. SCADA vahendid. Õppeaine üheks osaks on praktikum. Laboratoorsed tööd õppejõu valikul.
brief description of the course in English
The essence of the automatic regulation of production processes. The development of automation. Automatic adjustment systems. Classification. The main elements of the system: are sensors, primary measuring instruments, converters, control devices, and secondary measuring instruments. Measurement and control of the main technological parameters of production processes (pressure, consumption, level, temperature, density, humidity, pH, etc.). Symbols of automation tools. Technological objects of automatic regulation. Automatic regulators. Regulatory laws. Selection of regulators. Drawing up automatic adjustment systems. Control of the basic parameters of typical technological processes used in chemical engineering. Automation of continuous, semi-continuous, and periodic technological processes. Presentation of control processes on the computer. SCADA software. Part of the subject is a practicum. Laboratory work at the choice of the lecturer.
