learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- kirjeldab maapõue kui keskkonda ja mineraalressursside allikat;
- nimetab maapõueressursse: maavarasid, põhjavett, maasoojust, maatuge ning nende uurimise ning kasutamise võimalusi;
- kasutab mäenduslikke insenerivahendeid uuringu-, mõõte-, projekteerimis- ja välitööl;
- toob näiteid maailma mäendusest, valdkonna regulatsioonidest, mäeinseneri kutsestandardist ning insenerieetika põhimõtetest;
- kirjeldab mäetöid, allmaaehitamist ning valdkonna tulevikuperspektiive;
- esitab valdkonna olulisel teemal suulise ettekande, põhjendades argumenteeritult oma seisukohti.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
A student who has completed the course:
- describes the Earth’s subsurface as an environment and a source of mineral resources;
- identifies subsurface resources: mineral deposits, groundwater, geothermal energy, and ground support, as well as the possibilities for their exploration and use;
- uses mining engineering tools in research, measurement, design, and fieldwork;
- provides examples of global mining, sector regulations, the mining engineer’s professional standard, and the principles of engineering ethics;
- describes mining operations, underground construction, and future perspectives of the field;
- gives an oral presentation on an important topic in the field, justifying their positions with arguments.
brief description of the course in Estonian
Mäenduse ja geotehnoloogia ajalugu läbi inimkonna arengu. Erialase terminoloogiaga tutvumine. Kaevandamise majanduslik pool. Selle valdkonnaga soetud tööohutus. Läbivalt toimuvad erinevad välitööd (ka. karjääri külastus), praktikumid, virtuaalreaalsuse kasutamine.
brief description of the course in English
The history of mining and geotechnology through the development of mankind. Familiarity with professional terminology. Search, exploration, sampling and exploitation of new underground resources. Getting acquainted with the technologies used in mining in both surface and underground mining. Getting to know the most used machines. Processing and enhancement of mineral resources. Various underground structures, their construction and use tunnels, storage facilities, etc. Impact of mining activities on the environment. The economic side of mining. Occupational safety in this area. Various fieldwork (including a career visit), practicums, and the use of virtual reality take place throughout.
