Kursuse eesmärk on tutvustada üliõpilastele Euroopa teadusruumi pakutavaid võimalusi rahvusvahelise teadustegevuse rahastamiseks. Kursuse käigus antakse ülevaade EL-i raamprogrammi eesmärkidest ja toimimisest ning analüüsitakse raamprogrammi rahastatavaid prioriteete ja tegevusi. Kursus tutvustab projektipõhise teaduse rahastamise peamisi põhimõtteid ja lähenemisi, sh rahvusvaheliste projektide taotlemise, juhtimise ning aruandluse finantsilisi, õiguslikke ja koordinatsiooniga seotud aspekte. Kursuse praktilises pooles harjutatakse raamprogrammi projektitaotluste koostamist ja projektide haldamist.

The main goal of the course is to introduce the opportunities of the European Research Area for financing international research projects. The course gives an overview of the goals and functioning of the EU Framework Programme and analyses the priorities and activities financed by it. The course outlines the main principles and approaches involved in project-based research funding. It discusses the financial, legal and coordination-related challenges to applying for, managing and reporting on international research projects. In the practical part of the course, the students learn to write project applications and manage projects.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- mõistab Euroopa Teadusruumi ja EL raamprogrammi toimimist;
- teab EL raamprogrammi prioriteete ja tegevusi;
- koostab EL raamprogrammi loogikale ja prioriteetidele vastavaid projektitaotlusi;
- juhib ja haldab EL raamprogrammi projekte;
- kommunikeerib oma teadustegevust avalikkusele.

After completing this subject the student:
- understands the functioning of the European Research Area and EU Framework Programme;
- understands the priorities and actions of the EU Framework Programme;
- compiles project applications inline with the EU Framework Programme logic and priorities;
- manages and administers EU Framework Porgramme projects;
- communicates his/her research activities to the general public.

Kursuse tutvustab Euroopa teadusruumi pakutavaid võimalusi rahvusvahelise teadustegevuse rahastamiseks. Kursuse käigus antakse ülevaade ELi raamprogrammi eesmärkidest ja toimimisest ning analüüsitakse raamprogrammi rahastatavaid prioriteete ja tegevusi. Kursus põhineb loengutel (põhiõppejõud ja külalisõppejõud) ja üliõpilaste grupitöödel, mille raames harjutatakse raamprogrammi projektide kirjutamist, juhtimist ja haldamist.
