Pakkuda interdistsiplinaarset õpet erinevate õppekavade üliõpilastele mõistmaks erialade integreeritust Õppeaine eesmärk on omandada teadmised päikesegeomeetria rollist hoone sisekliima ja hoone energiatõhususe kujunemisel. Õpitakse päikesegeomeetria teadmiste rakendamist hoonete passiivsete arhitektuuriliste jahutus ja kütte meetodite kavandamisel. Uuritakse linnaplaneeringu võimalusi lähtudes päikesegeomeetriast. Vaadeldakse erineva hoone fassaadi kavandamise mõju hoone tehnosüsteemide elukaare maksumusele ja päevavalgusele. Saadakse ülevaade maailmas kasutusel olevatest keskkondliku, sotsiaalse ja majandusliku kvaliteedi ehk jätkusuutlikkuse hindamisest hoone projekteerimise standardites.

The objective of the subject is to provide interdisclipinary knowledge for students from various curricula to understand the integration among different study disciplines. The objective of the subject is to obtain knowledge of solar geometry on the indoor climate and energy efficiency of a building. The studies include the application of the knowledge on solar geometry in the planning of passive architectural cooling and heating methods. The students will investigate the possibilities of urban planning based on solar geometry. Knows the effects that the façade designs of different buildings have on the calculation of the life time cost of the utility systems of the building and daylight. An overview will be given of the global assessment methods of the environmental, social and economical quality, i.e. sustainability of the planning standards of a building.

Tunneb sisekliima komponentide. Oskab kirjeldada inimese soojusliku mugavust ja inimese soojusvahetust ümbritseva keskkonnaga. Tunneb sisekliima nõudeid. Oskab arvutada päikesegeomeetriat ja kasutada neid teadmisi passiivse arhitektuurse jahutuse kavandamisel. Teab analüüsida erineva hoone fassaadi kavandamise mõju hoone tehnosüsteemide elukaare maksumusele ja hoone sisekliimale. Teab jätkusuutlikkuse hindamise peamisi standardeid ja nende nõudeid.

Knows the components of indoor climate. Knows how to describe humans’ thermal comfort and the heat exchange of the human body with the surrounding environment. Knows the requirements of indoor climate. Knows how to calculate solar geometry and to use the knowledge in the planning of passive architectural cooling. Knows the effects that the façade designs of different buildings have on the calculation of the life time cost of the utility systems of the building and the indoor climate of the building. Knows the main standards for assessing sustainability and their requirements.

Õppeaine kujutab endast interdistsiplinaarset õppeainet, kus erinevate valdkondade tudengid lahendavad projekti vormis erinevaid ette antud ülesandeid. Õppeaine baseerub loengutele ja praktilisele tööle. Teooria raames käsitletakse järgmisi teemasid: hoone sisekliima, päikesegeomeetria, passiivne jahutus.
Grupitööna tuleb tudengitel lahendada ette antud ülesandeid passiivse arhitektuurse jahutuse kavandamise kohta. Samuti ette antud linnaplaneerimise ülesanne, mida tutvustatakse seminaril. Kodutööna tuleb individuaalselt teostada erineva hoone fassaadi kavandamise mõju hoone tehnosüsteemide elukaare maksumusele ja päevavalgusele.

This is an interdisciplinary subject, that constitutes problem based learning where students from various curricula need to solve different and integrated tasks. The subject is based on lectures and practical works. The theoretical part will cover the following topics: the indoor climate of a building, solar geometry, passive cooling.
As a group project, the students will have to resolve tasks to plan the passive architectural cooling of a building. There is also a urban planning task, that is addressed at the seminar. The homework assignment is to compile the impact of the various façade solutions of a building on the life cycle cost of the building’s technological systems and the daylight.

Tegemist on eksmaiga lõppeva õppeainega. Hindamine toimub ja lõpphinne kujuneb kodutööde, laboratoorsete tööde, kontrolltöö ja eksami tulemuste põhjal.

The subject ends with an exam. The assessment is conducted and the final mark is established based on the results of the homework assignments, laboratory works, test and exam.
