Kursuse eesmärk on tutvustada üliõpilastele erinevate kultuuride muutusi läbi ideede, esemete, nähtuste jt. Kursuse sisu muutub sageli. Kutsutud külalislektorid määravad konkreetsema fookuse ja toovad igal õppeaastal uusi vaatenurki.

Aim of the course is to introduce students to variety of changes in different cultures through ideas, objects, phenonomens etc. This is a course that changes often and brings in new viewpoints in every academic year through inviting guest lecturers who determine the more specific focus.

Pärast kursuse läbimist on tudengid kursis valitud mõistete ja nende arengutega ning oskavad mõista, kuidas need on mõjutanud ajalugu ja ühiskondi. Tudengid on laiendanud oma maailmapilti ning harjutanud seminariaruteludes kriitilist mõtlemist ja arutlusoskusi.
