Õppeaine eesmärk on laiendada põhisõnavara ja suurendada toimetulekut igapäevastes suhtlussituatsioonides.

NB! Kursusele ei aktsepteerita üliõpilasi, kes on omandanud keskhariduse Eestis või kelle emakeel/teine keel on eesti keel.

The aim of the course is to expand student core vocabulary of Estonian and increase their capability to cope in everyday communication situations.

NB! Students who have acquired secondary education in Estonia or whose mother tongue/second language is Estonian will not be accepted to the course.

Üliõpilane:
- saab aru sageli kasutatavatest sõnadest ja lausetest;
- suudab end väljendada tuttavatel teemadel, nagu perekond, õpingud, ümbritsev keskkond, tulevikuplaanid jms;
- tuleb toime harjumuspärastes suhtlusolukordades;
- mõistab lühemaid tekste, kui on käsitletava valdkonnaga varasemast tuttav.

Eesti keele grammatika põhialused. Igapäevaeluks vajalikud väljendid.
Grammatika:
- õpitud käänete kordamine (põhikäänded, kohakäänded, kaasaütlev, ilmaütlev, nimetava mitmus);
- saav ja olev kääne;
- omadussõnade võrdlusastmed;
- ajamäärsõnad;
- kohamäärsõnad;
- lihtminevik ja täisminevik;
- tingiv kõneviis
- järgarvsõnad.

Arvestusele pääsemise eeltingimus on aktiivne osalemine vähemalt 75% kontakttundides ja kodutööde õigeaegne esitamine. Kirjalik arvestustöö sisaldab nii valikvastustega kui vabas vormis vastustega küsimusi kursuse jooksul läbitud teemade piires.

A prerequisite for successful completion of the course is active participation in at least 75% of classes and timely submission of home assignments. The Final Test is comprised of both multiple-choice and open questions.
