brief description of the course in Estonian
Keemia põhimõisted ja põhiseadused. Aatomi ehitus ja selle seos perioodilisussüsteemiga. Keemiline side, molekulide kuju ja struktuur. Aine agregaatolekud. Gaasid, vedelikud ja tahkised ning nende omadused. Keemiliste reaktsioonide seaduspärasused. Termodünaamika seadused. Keemiline tasakaal ja – kineetika. Lahused ja vesi. Elektrokeemia. Korrosioon ja korrosioonikaitse.
Lisaks õpetatakse harjutustundides- moolarvutust, saagise, kadude, lisandite arvestamist keemilistes reaktsioonides, arvutusi gaasiliste ainetega ja lahuste valmistamisega; redoksreaktsioonide tasakaalustamist.
Praktikumides tutvutakse ainete lahustamise ja keemiliste omadustega, vee kareduse, pH mõiste ja määramisega, reaktsiooni kiiruse määramisega, redoksprotsesside, korrosiooni, ning gaasiliste ainete omadustega.
brief description of the course in English

type of assessment in Estonian
Eksamile saamise eelduseks on eksamieelduste olemasolu praktikumist (ettenähtud tööde sooritamine, vormistatud ja arvestatud protokollid, kontrolltöö sooritamine vähemalt 61 punktile), ja harjutustunnist (kontrolltöö sooritamine vähemalt 15 punktile). Eksamihinne kujuneb 30% ülesannete ja 70% eksami punktide põhjal.
type of assessment in English
To pass the course, the student must first obtain exam prerequisites from lab (carry out required work, presented and approved protocols, written lab test with the minimum result of 61 points),and from exercise class (written test with minimum 15 points). The final grade is a sum of exercise test points (30%) and written exam points (70%).
independent study in Estonian
Töö õppematerjalidega (loengu konspekt, õppekirjandus, praktikumi juhendid, harjutustunni materjalid). Harjutustundides käsitletud ülesannete lahendamine. Laboratoorsete tööde protokollide vormistamine.
independent study in English
Work with study materials (lecture materials, study literature, laboratory tutorials, exercise class materials). Study of the materials presented in the exercise classes and lectures. Writing lab protocols.
