Globaliseerumise selgitamine interdistsiplinaarsest vaatenurgast kui majanduslikku, poliitilist ja kultuurilist nähtust. Analüüsida globaalsete probleemide olemust, põhjuseid ja võimalikke lahendusi.

To explain globalization from an interdisciplinary point of view as an economical, political and cultural phenomenon. To analyse the essence, the reasons and possible solutions of global problems.

Üliõpilane:
- selgitab globaliseerumise kolme põhiteooria põhiseisukohti;
- analüüsib globaliseerumist kolmetahulisena kui nähtuse, filosoofia, ja protsessi ühendust nii majanduslikust, poliitilisest kui kultuurilisest küljest;
- kirjeldab põhilisi globaalprobleeme ja analüüsib nende võimalikke lahendusteid.

The students:
- explain the basics of all three major theories concerning globalization, namely the world system theory, world polity theory and world culture theory;
- analyze globalization as a threefold unity: a philosophy, a phenomenon and a process from economic, political and cultural aspects;
- describe the main global problems and analyze the possible ways of their solution.

Kursus analüüsib kõiki kolme peamist üleilmastumise aspekti - majanduslikku, poliitilist ja kultuurilist, mis põhinevad maailma süsteemide, maailma poliitilisel ja maailmakultuuri teooriatel. Globaliseerumist peetakse filosoofiaks, nähtuseks ja protsessiks. Hinnatakse nii selle positiivset kui ka negatiivset külge. Hinnatakse globaalsete probleemide põhjuseid ning lahenduste võimalusi ja võimalikke viise.
brief description of the course in English
The course analyses all three main aspects of globalization, namely economic, political and cultural one based on the world system theory, world polity theory and world culture theory. Globalization is viewed as a philosophy, a phenomenon and a process. Both its positive and negative sides are assessed. The reasons of the global problems and the chances and possible ways of their solutions are assessed.
