Üliõpilane on omandanud põhjalikud teadmised Euroopa Majandusühenduse ja Euroopa Liidu kõigi olulisemate aluslepingute (sealhulgas Rooma, Maastrichti, Lissaboni jt) alusel kujundatud rahvusvahelisest organisatsioonist, alates selle loomisest kuni tänaseni. Kursuse käigus saadakse kriitiline analüüsivõime, et eristada EL-i erinevate arengutasemete (vabakaubandusala, tolliliit, ühisturg, majandusliit) poliitikate erisusi. Üliõpilased omandavad oskused analüüsida EL majandus- ja muude poliitikate korraldust, samuti omandavad nad kriitilised oskused hinnata üksikute liikmesriikide edukust.

Students have good knowledge about general treaties of European Union and European Economic Community (Rome Treaties; Treaty on European Union - Maastricht Treaty; Lisbon Treaty etc). Historical overview about development of the EU and EEC is given about the whole period - from the beginning of European integration up to contemporary situation. The course gives students good knowledge for critical understanding of different EU politics during different historical stages and circumstances (free trade area, customs union, single market and economic union). Students are able to analyse EEC and EU general arrangements as well as estimate advancements of different member states.

Kursus tutvustab üliõpilaste Euroopa Liidu üldise poliitilise strateegia väljatöötamist ning selle rakendamist koostöös Euroopa Nõukogu ja Komisjoniga ning annab põhjaliku ülevaate kuidas Euroopa Liidu poliitikat ja seadusi välja töötatakse kindlustamaks, et need põhineksid tõendusmaterjalil ning parimatel võimalikel praktikatel. Kõige olulisem osa kursusest keskendub erinevate strateegiate õpetamisele, käsitledes hariduse ja koolituse, tööhõive ja sotsiaalsfääri, põllumajanduse, panganduse ja finantsteenuste, riigipiiride ja turvalisuse ning paljudele teistele valdkondadele.
brief description of the course in English
The course will introduce students to the process of the EU’s overall political strategy development, implemented jointly by the European Council together with the European Council’s President and the President of the Commission. Then it will give an in-depth overview of how the EU policies and laws are designed to ensure that a particular policy is based on evidence and best available practice. The final as well as the most comprehensive part of the course will be dedicated to studying different strategy by policy area, namely education and training, employment and social affairs, energy, agriculture, banking and financial services, borders and security, and many others.
