Aine eesmärk on süvendada teadmisi majandusmudelite rakendamisvõimalustest makromajanduses toimuvate protsesside analüüsimiseks.

The aim of this course is to deepen the knowledge about the possibilities of using economic models in the analysis of macroeconomic processes.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- selgitab erinevate makromajanduslike mudelite omavahelisi seoseid ja nende rakendatavust makromajanduslike protsesside käsitlemisel;
- analüüsib ja võrdleb erinevatest makromajanduslikest mudelitest tulenevaid järeldusi ning hindab nende sobivust erinevate majandusnähtuste selgitamisel;
- analüüsib makromajanduslikke protsesse sobivate majandusmudelite abil ning põhjendab mudelite põhjal tehtud järeldusi;
- analüüsib ja tõlgendab makroökonoomika-alaseid empiirilisi uurimistöid ning hindab kriitiliselt nende tulemusi ja järeldusi;
- leiab makromajanduslike teemade analüüsimiseks asjakohaseid teadus- ja andmeallikaid, hindab nende usaldusväärsust ja asjakohasust ning tõlgendab nende põhjal majandusalast informatsiooni;
- analüüsib kriitiliselt makromajanduslikel teemadel esitatud seisukohti ning esitab ja põhjendab oma argumente suuliselt ja kirjalikult;
- annab kaasüliõpilaste tööle kriteeriumidest lähtuvat konstruktiivset suulist tagasisidet.

After completing this course the student:
– explains the relationships between different macroeconomic models and their applicability to the analysis of macroeconomic processes;
– analyses and compares conclusions derived from different macroeconomic models and evaluates their suitability for explaining different economic phenomena;
– analyses macroeconomic processes using appropriate economic models and justifies conclusions drawn from the models;
– analyses and interprets empirical research in macroeconomics and critically evaluates its results and conclusions;
– finds relevant academic literature and data sources for analysing macroeconomic topics, evaluates their reliability and relevance, and interprets economic information based on these sources;
– critically analyses views on macroeconomic issues and presents and justifies arguments orally and in writing;
– provides constructive oral feedback on fellow students’ work based on established criteria.

Majanduskasv; Solow kasvumudel; turu toimimine; tarbimine, säästmine ja investeerimine; majandustsüklite tasakaalumudel; kapitali kasutamine ja töötus; inflatsioon, raha kasv ja intressimäärad; valitsuse väljaminekud.

Economic growth; Solow growth model; market functioning; consumption, saving and investment; an equilibrium business-cycle model; capital utilization and unemployment; inflation, money growth and interest rates; government expenditure.

Õppeaine loetakse positiivselt sooritatuks, kui üliõpilane on tervikuna kogunud vähemalt 51 punkti. Eksamile mitte ilmumise korral üliõpilane lõpphindamisele ei pääse ning tulemuseks on „mitteilmunud“ („MI“).

The student has passed the course if he/she has received at least 51 points. If the student does not show up for the exam, the final result of the course will be “not attended” (“MI”).
