Aine eesmärk on:
- tutvustada majandusprotsesse kirjeldavaid dünaamilisi süsteeme;
- optimeerida majandusnäitajaid valikute tegemise teel olemasolevate alternatiivide hulgast;
- õppida tundma majandusprobleemide uurimisel kasutatavaid kvantitatiivseid meetodeid;
- osata koostada vastavaid mudeleid ja tunda nende lahendamise meetodeid.

The aim of this course is to:
- introduce the dynamic systems describing economic processes;
- optimise the economic variables by the selection method from the set of available alternatives;
- teach the quantitative methods for investigation of economic problems;
- develop respective models and discuss the solution methods.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- oskab modelleerida lihtsamaid dünaamilisi süsteeme ning lahendada diferentsiaal- ja diferentsvõrrandeid;
- teab ja oskab kasutada lineaaralgebra põhivahendeid;
- oskab koostada lineaarse planeerimise ülesandeid;
- teab erikujulisi planeerimisülesandeid ja nende lahendusmeetodeid;
- tunneb duaalsusprintsiipi;
- oskab koostada konfliktsituatsioonide matemaatilisi mudeleid ja neid lahendada.

After completion of the course, the student:
- is able to model simple dynamic systems and knows the solution methods of differential and difference equations;
- is acquainted with linear algebra tools;
- can develop linear programming models;
- knows different programming problems and their solution methods;
- is familiar with the duality principle;
- manages the mathematical models for conflict situations.

Esimest ja kõrgemat järku diferentsiaalvõrrandid. Eralduvate muutujatega ja lineaarne diferentsiaalvõrrand. Konstantsete kordajatega teist järku lineaarsed diferentsiaalvõrrandid. Esimest järku diferentsvõrrand. Näiteid diskreetsetest ja pidevatest dünaamilistest süsteemidest majanduses, nende stabiilsus. Lühiülevaade dünaamiliste süsteemide teooria põhielementidest. Lineaaralgebra (maatriksalgebra, lineaarne sõltuvus, lineaarvõrrandite süsteemide lahenduvus, Gaussi meetod). Lineaarse planeerimise ülesannete koostamine ja lahendamine (otsene ja duaalne simpleksmeetod, kunstliku baasi meetod), duaalülesanne. Kahe isiku nullsummalised maatriksmängud, transpordiülesanne.

First-order differential equations and second-order linear differential equations with constant coefficients. First-order difference equations. Discrete and continuous dynamical systems, dynamic stability of equilibrium. Fundamentals in the theory of dynamic systems. Linear algebra (matrices, systems of linear equations, Gaussian elimination method). Linear programming models (primal and dual simplex method, artificial basis), dual problems. Optimal solution of two-person zero-sum games, transportation problem.
