Aine sooritanud üliõpilane: (1) tunneb tööstuse keskkonnakaitse probleeme, oskab neid sõnastada, analüüsida ja hinnata erinevaid lahendusi; (2) tunneb kaasaegseid atmosfääri- ja veekaitse meetodeid ning tehnikat; (3) teab tahkete jäätmete käitlemisviise ning korduskasutuse printsiipe; (4) oskab teostada vee analüüse ning tehnoloogilisi katseid; (5) oskab siduda aine õpinguid omandatava erialaga.

Student who has taken the course (1) knows environmental problems in industry, can word them, analyse and assess different solutions; (2) knows modern methods and techniques of protection of the atmosphere and water pollution control; (3) knows ways of solid waste treatment and principles of reuse; (4) can implement water analysis and technological experiments; (5) is able to connect the course with the profession.

Keskkonnatehnoloogia ülesanded ja põhisuunad. Tööstuse keskkonnaprobleemid ja nende lahendusteed. Atmosfääri saasteained. Kriitilised saasteained. Heitgaaside puhastamise meetodid. Vääveldioksiidi ja lämmastikoksiidide emissiooni vähendamise tehnoloogiad. Orgaaniliste ja lõhnavate ainete eemaldamine heitgaasidest. Õhu puhastamine aerosoolidest. Põhinõuded joogi-, jahutus- ja katlavee kvaliteedile. Reovete saasteained. Veepuhastuse põhiprotsessid: jämedisperssete ainete eraldamine, koagulatsioon, steriliseerimine, degaseerimine, desodoreerimine, pehmendamine, magestamine. Reovete puhastusmeetodid ja töötlemise skeemid. Vee ringtsüklid. Reovete bioloogiline käitlus. Veepuhastusprotsesside jääkmuda käitlemine. Reovete järelpuhastuse tänapäevased protsessid. Tahkete (sh ohtlike) jäätmete käitlemine. Tahkete jäätmete ladustamine. Tahkete jäätmete töötlusskeemid. Saastatud pinnaste töötlemismeetodid. Laboratoorsed tööd: joogi- ja heitvete keemiline analüüs; vee puhastusprotsesside uurimine.

Mission and main trends of environmental technology. Environmental problems of industry and ways of their solving. Atmosphere contaminants. Critical contaminants. Methods of exhaust gases purification. Technologies of reduction of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions. Organic and odorous substances removing from exhaust gases. Air purification from aerosols. Basic requirements for the quality of drinking, cooling and boiler water. Contaminants of sewage. The main processes of water purification: coarse disperse substances separation, coagulation, sterilizing, degassing, deodorization, softening, freshening. Methods of sewage purification and schemes of processing. Water circulation cycles. Sewage biological treatment. Water purification processes excess sludge treatment. Sewage final purification contemporary processes. Solid (incl. hazardous) waste treatment. Solid waste storage. Schemes of solid waste processing. Methods of contaminated areas treatment. Laboratory works: chemical analysis of drinking and sewage; investigation of purification processes.

Iseseisva töö orienteeruvaks mahuks eeldatakse 92 tundi. Sellest 32 tundi (ca 2 tundi nädalas) on mõeldut aine teoreetilise osa iseseisvaks läbitöötamiseks, 16 tundi (ca 1,0 tund nädalas) laboratoorsete tööde andmete töötlemiseks ja tööde vormistamiseks; 20 tundi referaadi koostamiseks, 12 tundi testideks ja 12 tundi eksamiks ettevalmistamine.

Approximate volume of self-dependent work is 92 hours. Herein 32 hours (ca 2 hours per a week) are intended for theoretical part self-dependent elaborating, 16 hours (ca 1,0 hour per a week) laboratory works data handling and works forming; 20 hours for essay compiling, 12 hours for tests and 12 hours for exam preparation.
