Õppeaine eesmärk on anda üliõpilasele võimalus omandada põhiteadmised anorgaaniliste ainete ja materjalide keemilise tehnoloogia valdkonnas; õpetada rakendama saadud teoreetilised teadmised praktikas; laiendada ja süvendada eksperimendi läbiviimise ja selle tulemuste interpreteerimise oskused.

The aim of the course is to give a student possibility to acquire basic knowlege in the field of inorganic matters and materials chemical technology; to teach to apply obtained theoretical knowledge in practice; to enlarge and to deepen skills of experiment carrying out and its results interpretation.

Aine sooritanud üliõpilane: (1) tunneb ainekavaga määratletud anorgaaniliste ainete ja materjalide tootmisprotsessi: toorained, kemism, teoreetilised alused, tehnoloogilised skeemid, põhilised aparaadid, riskid ja ohud, keskkonnaprobleemid, aine kasutusalad; (2) oskab teha ühe ja sama anorgaanilise aine/materjali tootmiseks kasutatavate erinevate tehnoloogiate võrdlusanalüüsi; (3) oskab teha anorgaaniliste ainete tootmisprotsesside tehnoloogilisi arvutusi (materjalibilansside koostamine, kulukoefitsientide, saagise jm arvutamine); (4) oskab omandatud teoreetilisi teadmisi kasutada eksperimendi läbiviimisel; (5) suudab üles ehitada eksperimenti, selle tulemusi esitada, töödelda ning analüüsida; (6) oskab iseseisvalt kasutada kirjandusallikaid (sh võõrkeelseid) uurimisprobleemi lahendamisel.

After passing the course a student: (1) knows manufacturing processes of inorganic matters and materials specified by the syllabus: raw materials, chemism, theoretical fundamentals, flow chart diagrams, main apparatuses, risks and hazards, environmental problems, fields of application; (2) ) can conduct comparative analysis of different technologies used for one and the same inorganic matter/material production; (3) can implement technological calculations of production processes of inorganic substances (material balances compiling, calculation of discharge coefficients, yield etc.); (4) is able to apply theoretical knowledge when carrying out experimental work; (5) is able to build up an experiment, to present the results, handle and analyse; (6) can use independently literary sources (including in foreign language) for investigation problems solving.

Käesolev kursus arvestab Eesti keemiatööstuse omapära.
Loengud. Keemilise tehnoloogia ajaloost. Kaasaegsed anorgaaniliste ainete tehnoloogiad ja nende arengusuunad. Väävel ja väävelhape. Lämmastiku tööstus. Atmosfäärse lämmastiku sidumise meetodid. Ammoniaagi sünteesi tasakaal ja kineetika, tootmise tehnoloogia. Lämmastikväetised: ammooniumnitraat ja karbamiid. Looduslikud fosfaadid – apatiidid ja fosforiidid. Fosforhape. Fosforiväetised. Fosforit sisaldavad muud tööstusproduktid. Kaaliumväetised. Kompleksväetised. Lubja ja kipsi tootmine. Tsemendi tootmine. Keraamikatoodete (tellised, katusekivid jt) valmistamine. Klaas: tooraine, klaasi keetmine. Haruldased muldmetallid (tseerium, lantaan, neodüüm, praseodüüm jt) ja nende ühendid: kasutusalad, tooraine, tootmise tehnoloogiad. Elektrokeemilised protsessid tööstuses. Katalüsaatorite ja adsorbentide tootmine. Tööstusjäätmete ümbertöötlemine. Kasutatud plii-happeakude ümbertöötlemine, plii ja pliisulamite tootmine.
Harjutused. Tehnoloogiliste skeemide lugemine. Materjali- ja soojusbilansside koostamine. Kulukoefitsientide, saagise jm arvutamine.
Praktikum. Anorgaaniliste ainete süntees ja analüüs õppejõu valikul. Õppeekskursioonid ja õppepäevad keemiaettevõtetes.

The given course has been compiled with an allowance for peculiarities of chemical industry of Estonia.
Lectures. History of chemical technology. Inorganic matters modern technologies and directions of their development. Sulphur and sulphuric acid. Nitrogen industry. Atmospheric nitrogen binding methods. Ammonia synthesis balance and kinetics, production technology. Nitrogen fertilizers: ammonia nitrate and carbamides. Natural phosphates – apatites and phosphorites. Phosphoric acid. Phosphoric fertilizers. Other industrial products containing phosphorous. Potash fertilizers. Complex fertilizers. Lime and gypsum production. Cement production. Ceramic products manufacturing (bricksroof tiles etc.). Glass: raw material, glass cooking. Rare earth metals (cerium, lanthanum, neodymium, praseodymium etc.) and their compounds: fields of application, raw material, production technologies. Electrochemical processes in industry. Catalysts and adsorbents production. Industrial waste reprocessing. Used lead-acid accumulators reprocessing, lead and lead alloys production.
Exercises. Reading of process flow diagrams. Compiling of material and heat balances. Discharge factors, yield etc. calculation.
Practical training. Inorganic matters synthesis and analysis by the choice of the lecturer. Study excursions and training days at chemical enterprises.

Iseseisva töö orienteeruvaks mahuks eeldatakse 90-92 tundi. Sellest 24 tundi (ca 1,5 tundi nädalas) on mõeldut aine teoreetilise osa iseseisvaks läbitöötamiseks, 16 tundi (ca 1,0 tund nädalas) koduste ülesannete lahendamiseks, 16 tundi (ca 1,0 tund nädalas) laboratoorsete tööde andmete töötlemiseks ja tööde vormistamiseks; 20 tundi referaadi koostamiseks, 8 tundi kontrolltöödeks ja 8 tundi eksamiks ettevalmistamiseks.

Supposed volume of independent work is 90-92 hours. Herein 24 hours (ca 1,5 hours per a week) are intended for lectures materials self-dependent elaborating, 16 hours (ca 1,0 hours per a week) for hometasks solving, 16 hours (ca 1,0 hour per a week) for laboratory data processing and works forming; 20 hours for essay compiling, 8 hours for the tests and 8 hours for exam preparation
