Üliõpilane omandab üldise ettekujutuse nii energiasüsteemidest ja ühendenergiasüsteemidest, nende kooslusest ning seotusest elektrienergia tootjatega kui ka talitluse põhimõtetest; tunneb Eesti energiasüsteemi ja tema osa ning seotust naabrite energiasüsteemidega.

A student acquires general notion about power systems and joint power systems, their association and connection with electric energy producers, the main principles of their operation; knows power system of Estonia and its components, as well as its connection with the power systems of the neighbours.

Üliõpilane tunneb energiasüsteemide ja ühendenergiasüsteemide kui tehniliste süsteemide eripära ja oskab analüüsida erinevate elektrijaamade tüüpide (kondensatsioonielektrijaamade, hüdroelektrijaamade, tuumaelektrijaamade, tuuleelektrijaamade jt) sobivust konkreetsesse energiasüsteemi, tunneb sageduse ja aktiivvõimsuse reguleerimise meetodeid, tunneb energiasüsteemi arengu planeerimise eesmärke ja ülesannet, teab võimsuste genereerimise optimeerimise ja juhtimise võimalusi.

A student knows power systems and joint power systems pecularities as technical systems, can analyse suitability of different types of power plants (condensing power stations, nuclear power stations,wind farms etc) to a concrete power system, knows methods of frequency and active power adjustment, knows the aims and tasks of power system development planning, knows possibilities of power generation optimization and control.

Energiasüsteemide ajaloost. Maailma energeetika olukord ja arengu põhisuunad. Energiasüsteemide funktsioon, kompositsioon ja neile esitatavad nõuded. Ühendenergiasüsteemid. Eritüübiliste elektrijaamade sobivus energiasüsteemi. Energiasüsteemi elementide ja püsitalitluse mudelid. Sageduse ja aktiivvõimsuste reguleerimine energiasüsteemides ning ühendenergiasüsteemides. Reservid ja elektrienergia genereerimise optimeerimise võimalused. Energiasüsteemi töö- ja häiringukindluse aluspõhimõtted. Töökindluse hindamise näitajad ja nende arvutamine. Energiasüsteemide arengu planeerimise ülesanded.

History of power systems. The main trends of development and state of the world power engineering. Power systems operation, composition and the requirements for them. Joint power systems. Suitability of different types of power stations to a power system. Models of power system elements and steady-state operation. Adjustment of frequency and active power in power systems and joint power systems. Possibilities of optimization of electric power generation and reserves.The basic principles of power system operational reliability and immunity to a disturbance. Assessment of operational reliability parameters and their calculation.The tasks of power systems development planning.
