Anda lühikirjeldus elektroonika üldandmetest, pooljuhtmaterjalidest ja -seadistest (dioodid, bipolaartransistorid, MOSFET väljatransistorid, integraallülitused), jõuelektroonikast, mikroelektroonikast; saada ülevaade muunduritele esitatavatest üldistest nõuetest ning omandada erialane terminoloogia; arendada edasi üliõpilaste teoreetilisi teadmisi ja nende rakendusoskusi.

To provide some background on the basic operating characteristics of semiconductor devices (diodes, transistors, MOSFET, etc.); to provide the design, operation, and application of circuits built using op-amps and linear integrated circuit devices; to develop a basic foundation of knowledge in fundamental areas of electronics (circuits and systems, signals and communications) with additional depth and design experience.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane tunneb elektroonikaseadiste tööpõhimõtteid, tunnusjooni ja parameetreid; elektroonikas kasutatavaid põhimõisteid, definitsioone ja tingmärke; ülesannete lahendamise meetodeid; skeemides kasutatavate elementide graafilisi tähiseid, tööpõhimõtet ja kasutusala; kasutab edukalt mõõteseadmeid skeemide koostamisel ning kontrollimisel; projekteerib erinevaid elektroonseid skeeme, kasutades selleks tarkvara.

Student who has taken the subject has systematical knowledge circuit diagrams and schematic symbols of all devices; structures and biasing methods of semiconductor devices; characteristics and typical values of the quantities in the specific points; advantages and disadvantages of each device and circuit; is able to develop proficiency making electronic circuit measurements using standard laboratory instruments; analyses of electronic circuits using computer simulation software.

Elektroonika põhimõisted. Pooljuhid. Bipolaartransistor. Väljatransistor. Transistorlülituse analüüs. Mitmeastmelised transistorvõimendid. Jõuvõimendid. Tagasisided. Diferentsiaal- ja operatsioonivõimendid. Signaalide genereerimine ja töötlemine. Võimendite mittelineaarsus ja mürad. Loogikaelementide tüübid ja baaselement. Trigerid. Viivitusskeemid. Türistor, GTO-türistor, IGBT- ja MOSFET-transistorid. Muunduri tööpõhimõte. Muunduri kommutatsioon. Muunduri sünkroniseerimine. Muundurite skeemid. Muundurite juhtimissüsteemid.

Principles of electronics. Types of semiconductor components. Diode, bipolar transistor, field effect transistor. Calculation of transistor circuits. Transistor amplifiers. Power electronic circuits. Use of feedback circuits. Differential and operational amplifiers. Generation and conversion of signals. Nonlinearity of electronic circuits. Distortions. Types of logical circuits. Triggers. Circuits for time interval formation. Power electronic components: power diodes, IGBTs, thyristors, GTOs etc. Principles of power converters. Commutation process. Synchronization and control of power circuits.
