Üliõpilane omandab üldise ettekujutuse elektriseadmete kaitsest, elektriseadmete koosluste automaatikast (alajaamad, elektrivõrgud, elektrijaamad); saab ettekujutuse võrkude, alajaamade, elektrimasinate ja elektritarvitite kaitsest, voolukaitsetest, pingekaitsetest, sageduskaitsest, reservi lülitusautomaatikast, automaatsest korduslülitusest; omandab teadmised kaitse ja automaatika rakendamisest ning suudab arvutada kaitsete ja automaatika sätteid, suudab valida kaitse ja automaatika seadmeid rakendamiseks.

A student acquires a common notion of electrical devices protection, electrical devices associated automatics (substations, electrical power networks, electric power stations); gets a notion of networks, substations, electric machinery and electrical power consumers protection, current protection, voltage protection, frequency protection, reserve automatic control equipment, automatic reclosing relay; acquires knowledge of protection and automatics application, can calculate set points, can choose protection and automatics devices for utilization.

Üliõpilane teab ja tunneb elektriseadmete kaitset ja elektriseadmete koosluste automaatikat, automaatika ja kaitseseadmete sätete arvutuse põhimõtteid, oskab rakendada kaitse- ja automaatikaseadmete paigaldamist, nende põhimõtteskeeme, erinevaid kaitseseadmete tüüpe ja nende ühendusvõimalusi skeemidesse; elektrimasinate, jõutrafode, elektriliinide ja elektritarvitite kaitse ning kaitsele esitatavaid nõudeid, oskab arvutada vajalikke sätteid ja nende järgi valida kaitse ja automaatika seadmeid.

A student knows of electrical devices protection, electrical devices associated automatics, knows the principles of automatics and protection devices calculation, knows of installation of protection and automation devices, their schematic diagrams, different types of protection devices and possibilities of their connections into diagrams; protection of electric machinery, power transformers, electric lines and electrical power consumers, the requirements for the protection, can calculate necessary set points and choose protection and automation devices according to them.

Elektriseadmete ja elektriseadmete koosluste kaitsete sätete arvutamise alused vastavalt seadmete tehnilistele andmetele ja töörežiimile; kaitse- ja automaatikaseadmete tüübid ja andmed, nende valik ja rakendus, erinevate kaitse- ja automaatikaseadmete ühildamine, nende koostöö seadistamise alused. Voolukaitsed, ülepinge kaitsed, sageduskaitsed, reservi lülitusautomaatika, taaslülitusautomaatika, ülekoormuskaitse. Kaitsete töökindlus. Terminalid. Ohutuse tagamine.

Principles of set points calculation according to the specifications and operating conditions of electrical devices and associated automatics protection; types and characteristics of protection devices and automatic devices, their choice and application, congruence of different protection and automatic devices, principles of their joint work setting-up. Current protection, overvoltage protection, frequency protection, reserve automatic control equipment, automatic reclosing relay, overload protection. Protection reliability. Terminals. Providing of safety.

Teostatud laboratoorsete tööde käigus saadud andmete analüüs, tööde vormistamine, valmistumine kaitsmiseks. Koduste tööde teostamine, nende kaitsmiseks valmistumine. Kodune töö on elektriseadmete (elektrimootorid, trafod, alajaamad jne) kaitsesätete arvutus, kaitseseadmete valik ja valiku põhjendus. Kaitseseadmete jaoks vajalike andurite valik, põhimõttelise skeemi koostamine. Elektriseadmete tehnilised andmed on ette antud.

Analysis of the data obtained during laboratory works execution, the works forming, preparation for defence. Homeworks carrying out, preparation for their defence. Computation of set points of el. equipment (el. motors, transformators, substations etc), choosing of protection devices and choice explanation. Choosing of necessary sensors for protection equipment, principal diagram compiling. Specification of electrical equipment is preliminary given.
