Automaatjuhtimise tehniliste vahendite (kontrollerid, regulaatorid, andurid, täiturid) ja programsete vahendite tööpõhimõtete ja omaduste tutvustamine. Tehniliste vahendite valik ja kasutamine (häälestus, programmeerimine, ekspluatatsioon) mitmesugustes rakendustes.

To acquaint with operation principles and characteristics of technical instruments (controllers, regulators, sensors, actuators) as well as programme instruments of the automatic control. Selection and use of the technical instruments (setup, programming, exploitation) in various applications.

Õppeaine eduka läbimise järel üliõpilane teab andurite ja täiturite tööpõhimõtteid; tunneb automaatikavahendite tingmärke; tunneb releeregulaatorite ja kontrollerite tööpõhimõtteid; oskab lahti mõtestada lihtsamaid automaatikaseadmete struktuurskeeme; valdab erialaseid termineid.

Automaatikasüsteemi komponendid ja nende ühendamine. Binaarsed ja analoogsignaalid, seadmete sisendid. Automaatika liidesed ja protokollid. Andurid. Kontaktiga ja kontaktivabad lüliti tüüpi andurid. Signaalide ülekanne ja muundamine. Juhtseadmed. Programmeeritavad kontrollerid. Regulaatorite funktsioonid, numbriliste regulaatorite algoritmid. Regulaatorite valik ja häälestus. Operaatoriliides. Täiturseadised. Robotid. Aparatuuri kaitstus ja klimaatilised tingimused. Seadmete ohutus, seadmed tööks plahvatus- ja tuleohtlikus keskkonnas. Seadmete valik, montaaž ja ekspluatatsioon.

Components of automation system, their connection and combined operation. Standard signals. Sensors and classification of their elements.. Principles of sensor operation. Sensor fault diagnosis. PLC. Regulator classification, specific features, and parameters. Discrete PID-controller. HMI. Actuators. Robots. The integration of the automation system with the existing instrument and electrical systems of the plant. Engineering, programming, equipment supply, installation, testing and commissioning.

Iseseisva töö orienteeruvaks mahuks eeldatakse 32 tundi. Sellest 16 tundi on mõeldud aine teoreetilise osa iseseisvaks omandamiseks, 16 tundi praktiliste töö ettevalmistamiseks ja ülesannete lahendamiseks.
