Õppeaine eesmärk on anda teadmisi soojuse tootmise investeeringute väärtustamise meetoditest, energiasäästu efektiivsuse sõltuvusest energia hindadest, energiasäästumeetmete optimeerimise ja marginaalkulu analüüsist, energiamaksudest, energiapoliitilistest suundumustest EL-s, energiaseadusest.

The subject is aimed to provide the knowledge on evaluation methods of investments in heat production, energy efficiency depending on energy prices, optimizing of energy efficiency methods and marginal cost analysis, energy taxes, energy policy trends in the EU. Energy Act.

Ainekursuse lõpus üliõpilane teab energiatarbimise struktuuri Eestis ning omab ülevaadet sellest maailmas; oskab kasutada ja leida energiatarbimise andmeid Statistikaameti andmebaasist ning Eurostatist; tunneb investeeringute väärtustamise meetodeid ja nende valemeid ning oskab neid kasutada investeeringute analüüsil; teab EV soojus- ja elektrienergia tootmise, tarnimise ja tarbimise seadusi; omab ülevaadet elektrienergia ja soojuse hindade kujundamise põhimõtetest.

By the end of the course the student knows energy consumption structure in Estonia and has overview of it in the world; can use and find data of energy consumption from data base of Statistics Estonia and Eurostat; knows methods of investments evaluation and their formulae and can apply them when analyzing investments; knows Energy Act of Republic of Estonia concerning electric energy production, supply and consumption; acquires overview of electrical energy and heat prices formation principles.

Energiatarbimine maailmas, Eestis ja seda mõjutavad tegurid. Elektrienergia ja soojuse hinnad, nende kujundamise põhimõtted. Kohalikud kütused ja nende kasutamise majanduslikkus. Taastuvad energiaallikad ja nende osa soojuse tootmisel. Soojuse tootmise investeeringute väärtustamise meetodid: energiasääst, selle teoreetiline maksimum. Energiasäästualaste investeeringute väärtustamine ja nende analüüs. Energiasäästu efektiivsuse sõltuvus energia hindadest. Energiasäästumeetmete optimeerimine ja marginaalkulu analüüs. Inflatsiooni arvestamine intressimäära valikul soojuse tootmisel. Energiamaksud, nende rakendamine lähiriikides ja Eestis. Energiapoliitilised suundumised EL-s. Energy consumption in the world, in Estonia and factors influencing it. Economic aspects of production of electricity, hydro and nuclear power. Electricity and heat prices and their forming principles. Domestic fuels and economic aspects of their use. Renewable energy sources and their share in heat production. Evaluation methods of investments in heat production. Energy efficiency, its theoretical maximum. Evaluation of investments in energy efficiency and their analysis. Energy efficiency depending on energy prices. Optimizing of energy efficiency methods and marginal cost analysis. Energy taxes and taxation of fuels in Estonia and neighbouring countries. Energy policy trends in the EU. Strategic objectives of Estonian Energy Sector. Economic growth and energy consumption. Development of Estonian energy sector. Evaluation of investments in heat and power cogeneration. Long term development plan for Estonian fuel and energy sector - basic trends and ways of realization.
