Õppeaine eesmärk on:
anda ülevaade digivaldkonna pädevustest:
- sisu loomine;
- digitaalne andmete töötlemine;
- algoritmilise mõtlemise kasutamine;
- tehisintellekti tundmine.
Lisaks algoritmilise mõtlemise teemale sisaldab aine ka programmeerimise lühikursust.

The aim of this course is to:
to provide students an overview of the digital competencies:
- content creation;
- digital data processing;
- use of algorithmic thinking;
- knowledge of artificial intelligence.
In addition to the topic of algorithmic thinking, the course also includes a short course in programming.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- koostab ja vormindab dokumente (tekstid, tabelid, esitlused), kasutades optimaalseid töövõtteid;
- kirjeldab kaasaegse andmetöötluse protsessi ja kasutab andmetöötluseks efektiivselt tabeltöötluse programme;
- kirjeldab algoritmilise mõtlemise põhialuseid ja kasutab neid probleemile parima lahenduse leidmisel;
- lahendab lihtsamaid programmeerimisülesandeid, tuginedes näidetele;
- omab algteadmisi tehisintellekti valdkonnast ja arutleb tehisintellekti eetika ning mõju teemadel;
- kasutab tehisintellekti vahendeid õppetöös õigesti, hinnates kriitiliselt saadud tulemusi.

After completing this course the student:
- prepares and formats documents (texts, tables, presentations) using optimal working methods;
- describes the modern data processing process and uses spreadsheet programs effectively for data processing;
- describes the fundamentals of algorithmic thinking and uses them to find the best solution to a problem;
- solves simple programming tasks based on examples;
- has basic knowledge artificial intelligence field and discusses topics related to the ethics and impact of artificial intelligence;
- uses artificial intelligence tools correctly in studying, critically evaluating the results obtained.

Õppeaine koosneb neljast moodulist:
- dokumenditöötlus - antakse praktilisi oskusi dokumentide koostamise ja disaini alal;
- andmetöötlus - käsitletakse tabeltöötluse kasutamist andmetöötluses;
- algoritmilise mõtlemine ja programmeerimise lühikursuses käsitletakse põhimõisteid ja nende rakendamist probleemile parima lahenduse leidmisel ja tutvutakse lähemalt ühe programmeerimiskeelega ning lahendatakse lihtsamaid ülesandeid;
- tehisintellekti moodulis tutvustatakse tehisintellekti valdkonda, selle võimalusi ja piire. Teadmisi kinnistatakse praktiliste näidete läbitegemise abil.

The course consists of four modules:
- document processing - provides practical skills in document preparation and design;
- data processing - describes the use of spreadsheet processing in data processing;
- the short course on algorithmic thinking and programming covers basic concepts and their application in finding the best solution to a problem, introduces one programming language in more detail, and solution simpler tasks;
- the artificial intelligence module introduces the field of artificial intelligence, its possibilities, and limitations. Knowledge is reinforced through practical examples.

Arvestuse tulemus fikseeritakse mitteeristuvas hindamissüsteemis (A/MA).
Arvestuse saamiseks tuleb sooritada kõik kontrolltööd, enesetestid ja lahendada kõik kodutööd. Õppejõud võib esitada lisaküsimusi kodutööde ja testiküsimustele vastamisel kasutatud vahendite ning meetodite kohta.
