Õpeaine eesmärk on uute teadmiste ja oskuste omandamine või nende kinnistamine reaalse ettevõtte reaalseid probleeme lahendades.

- on iseseisvalt omandatud mingi äriinfotehnoloogia õppekava mõistes relevantse probleemi lahendamise jaoks vajalikud teadmised ja oskused;
- neid teadmisi ning oskusi on loovalt rakendatud reaalse ettevõtte mingi reaalse probleemi lahendamiseks;
- seejuures on analüüsitud erinevaid lahendusvõimalusi ning on põhjendatud kasutatud lahenduse relevantsust ning on hinnatud saadud tulemuse sobivust.

- have independently acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to solve a relevant problem within the meaning of a business information technology curriculum;

Ainet saab valida ainult õppekava programmijuhi nõusolekul. Nõusoleku saamiseks tuleb esitada umbes 1 A4 suurune projekt, kus on selgelt kirjas lahendatav probleem, eesmärk, kavandatav metoodika, tähtajad ning kasutatav kirjandus.

The subject can only be selected with the consent of the head of the study program. A project draft of around 1 A4 must be submitted for consent, with a clear indication of the problem to be solved, the objective, the proposed methodology, the deadlines, and the literature to be used.

Projekt kaitstakse komisjoni ees. Komisjonis on vähemalt kolm liiget, kellest vähemalt kaks on ülikooli esindajad. Kaitsmine toimub soovitavalt ettevõttes ja avalikult. Nii projekt kui ka projekti dokumentatsioon ja projekti kaitsmine on kaitsmise juures võrdselt olulised.

The project will be defended at the committee. The committee shall have at least three members, of which at least two shall be representatives of the university. The defense of the project is preferably carried out in the company and publicly.
