VERSION SPECIFIC DATA
course aims in Estonian
Õppeaine eesmärk on:
- luua võimalused teadmiste omandamiseks energiasüsteemide ökonoomika erinevatest probleemidest ning võimalikest lahendustest;
- luua võimalused teadmiste ja oskuste omandamiseks investeeringute hindamiseks energiasüsteemides.
course aims in English
The aim of this course is to:
- create opportunity to obtain knowledge on different problems and their solutions regarding the economics of power systems;
- create opportunity to obtain knowledge and skills on assessing and comparing investments in energy systems.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- selgitab energiasüsteemide ökonoomika põhikontseptsioone ja erinevaid kulukomponente (tootmine, ülekanne, jaotus, tarbimine);
- analüüsib energiasüsteemide ökonoomika valdkonna probleeme ja seoseid, arvestades kõigi sidusrühmadega;
- eristab elektritootmise, ülekande, jaotamise ja müügikulusid;
- hindab investeeringuid erinevate meetoditega: tasuvusaeg, puhas nüüdisväärtus, sisemine kasumimäär, kasumiindeks;
- kirjeldab avatud elektrituru rolli elektrihinna kujunemisel;
- mõistab elektrienergia tariifide olemust kuludest lähtuvalt ning seostades neid erinevate kulukomponentidega;
- tõlgendab energiaettevõtete majandusaasta aruannetest saadud andmeid, et hinnata ettevõtte majanduslikku tulemust.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After completing this course the student:
- explains the basic concepts of the economics of power systems and the various cost components (generation, transmission, distribution, consumption);
- analyzes problems and relationships in the field of economics of power systems, taking into account all stakeholders;
- distinguishes the costs of electricity generation, transmission, distribution, and sales;
- evaluates investments using various methods: payback period, net present value (NPV), internal rate of return (IRR), profitability index;
- describes the role of the open electricity market in the formation of electricity prices;
- understands the nature of electricity tariffs based on costs and relates them to the different cost components;
- interprets data obtained from the annual reports of energy companies to assess the company's economic performance.
