Õppeaine eesmärk on:
- anda üliõpilastele teadmised inseneriprojekti koostamiseks;
- omandada vajaminevad etapid toote konseptsioonist valmistooteni;
- rakendada teoreetilisi teadmisi praktiliste probleemide lahendamisel ja töö tulemuse vormistamisel;
- arendada visualiseerimis- ja simulatsioonioskust.

The aim of this course is to:
- to give students the knowledge to prepare an engineering project;
- acquire the necessary steps from product conception to the finished product;
- apply theoretical knowledge in solving practical problems and formalizing the work result;
- develop visualization and simulation skills.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- analüüsib toote funktsionaalseid, tehnilisi ja kasutuslikke iseärasusi ning sõnastab arendusülesande, lähtudes kliendi vajadustest ja turutingimustest;
- rakendab tootearenduse ja insenertehniliste lahenduste põhimõtteid innovaatilise tootelahenduse väljatöötamisel, põhjendades valitud tehnilisi lahendusi;
- kavandab ja valmistab meeskonnatööna töötava seadme või toote prototüübi/mudeli, jaotades rollid ning vastutuse eesmärgi saavutamiseks;
- koostab katseplaani toote toimivuse hindamiseks ning analüüsib katsetulemusi, tehes põhjendatud järeldusi;
- koostab toote tehnilise dokumentatsiooni, järgides asjakohaseid standardeid ja vormistusnõudeid.

After completing this course the student:
- analyses the functional, technical, and user-related characteristics of a product and formulates a development task, based on customer needs and market conditions;
- applies principles of product development and engineering design in developing innovative product solutions, justifying selected technical approaches;
- designs and develops a functional prototype or model as part of a team project, allocating roles and responsibilities to achieve common objectives;
- prepares a test plan to evaluate product performance and analyses test results, drawing justified conclusions;
- prepares technical documentation for the developed product, in accordance with relevant standards and documentation requirements.

Harjutused ja praktikum:
- sissejuhatus tugevusanalüüsidesse;
- tugevusanalüüside läbiviimine SolidWorks tarkvaras;
- üksikdetailide simulatsioonide ülesehitus;
- elementide põhimõtted ja seadistamine;
- seosed detailide vahel simulatsiooni ülesehitamisel;
- toote parameetriline optimeerimine;
- tulemuste esitamine ja analüüs;
- topoloogia tutvustus;
- projekti esitamine ja kaitsmine.

Excercises and practises:
- introduction to structural analysis;
- performing simulations in SolidWorks software;
- simulations of individual parts;
- principles and setting of elements;
- connections between details when creating the simulation;
- parametric optimization of the product;
- presentation and analysis of results;
- topology introduction;
- presenting and defending the project.
