brief description of the course in Estonian
Teenuste arengut mõjutavad tegurid: teaduslikud meetodid, tehnoloogilised lahendused, kasutajate vajadused, majanduslikud tegurid. Toodete ja teenuste kasutajate sihtgrupid: rahvusvahelised organisatsioonid, ametid, teadlased, ettevõtlus, avalikkus. Toodete ja teenuste komponendid: automaatsed mõõtesüsteemid koos reaalaja andmeedastusega, satelliitkaugseire, lähireaalaja numbrilise modellerimise tooted okeanograafias ja meteoroloogias, järelanalüüsi rakendused, kliimamuutustega kohanemine ja leevendusmeetmed. Spetsialiseeritud teenused ja tooted: põllumajandus ja kalandus, energia, transport, tervis, kindlustus, sport, turism ja teised sotsiaal-majanduslikud valdkonnad. Kursuse lõpetuseks antakse ülevaade toodete ja teenuste võimalikest arengusuundadest.

The course focuses on Copernicus marine, atmosphere and climate change products and services. It covers factors that have impact on service evolution like scientific methods, technological solutions, user needs and economic requirements. Overview of different user groups are given. Essential components for services consist of autonomous measuring systems with real time data delivery, satellite remote sensing, near-real time oceanographic and meteorological products from numerical models, applicability of reanalyses fields, climate changes mitigation and adaptation services. Targeted products and services are for agriculture and fisheries, energy, transport, health, insurance, sports, tourism and many more socio-economic sectors. At last, potential development of products and services is discussed.

independent study in Estonian
independent study in English
A student will design a oceanographic or meteorological product or service. He formulates product or service and defines potential user group. A student defines data requirement, describes technical and technological solutions, estimates the resources and gives overview of marketing methods.
