Anda ülevaade kivimite klassifikatsioonist. Tutvustada kivimite füüsikalis-mehaanilisi omadusi ja nendevahelisi seoseid. Õppida tundma kivimi raimamise meetodeid ja -seaduspärasusi. Omandada põhiteadmised kivimi käitlemisest: väljamisest ja rikastamisest.

Give review of rock classifications, introduce physical-mechanical properties of rocks and relationship between them, provide understanding of rock breaking methods and laws and basic knowledge of enrichment, provide experiences for tests in laboratory and in the field.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
* tunneb kivimite ja purdmaterjalide omadusi, parameetreid ja nendevahelisi seoseid;
* oskab kirjeldada kivimi raimamise mooduseid;
* teab kivimi purustamise, töötlemise ja rikastamise meetodeid;
* oskab kontrollida ja hinnata mäemassiivi ning sette ja puistete lasundite olukorda;
* teab energia- ning materjalikulu kivimi raimamisel ja töötlemisel;
* oskab teostada katseid nii laboris kui ka välitingimustes.

Kivimite, mineraalide ja setete füüsika ning nende omaduste klassifikatsioonid. Füüsikalised protsessid kivimites. Kivimite ja setete füüsikalis-tehniliste omaduste teimimine: tiheduslikud, mehaanilised, hüdraulilised, soojuslikud, elektromagnetilised parameetrid ja kiirgusomadused. Teimitulemuste omavaheline seos, väliste väljade mõju kivimite omadustele. Kivimite füüsikalis-tehnilised omadused ja protsessid mäemassiivis ja purunenud materjalis (puistematerjalis): mäemassiivi ehitus ja koostis, füüsikalis-tehnilised parameetrid.
Kaevandamise protsessid: kivimite ja setete massiivist irrutamine, kaevise rikastamine, transport, mäerõhu juhtimine. Raimamise mäetehnilised võtted. Purustamise- ja töötlemise meetodid ning seadmed. Rikastamine: sorteerimine, fraktsioneerimine, kontsentreerimine, separeerimine, floteerimine jm. Tootlikkuse ja energia ning materjalikulu arvutus kivimi raimamisel ja töötlemisel.

Rock mechanics: Minerals and rocks. Classification. Physical processes in rocks. Physical-technical properties and processes of rock samples: density, mechanical, hydrological, thermal, electro-magnetic, wavy and radioactivity, correlations. Influence of external fields. Physical-technical properties in rock mass and loos materials. Physical processes in mining: extraction, consentrating, transport and rock pressure control.
Breaking methods and technologies: Equipment for rock crushing and processing. Enrichment: grading, fractionating, concentrating, separating, flotating etc. Calculations of productivity, energy and material for rock breaking and processing.
