Kursus tutvustab üliõpilastele olulisemaid tehnoloogiaga seotud küsimusi üle maailma, pannes erilist rõhku EL põhimõtetele. Samuti õpetatakse rakendama põhimõtteid ja norme, mis reguleerivad mingi konkreetse tehnoloogiavaldkonna õiguslikke suhteid.

This course aims to introduce students to the core issues of technology regulation all over the world, with a particular focus on European Union frameworks, as well as teaching to apply the main principles and norms in regulating the usage of a specific technology.

- leiab ja selgitab tehnoloogiaõiguse peamisi põhimõtteid ning takistusi;
- rakendab üldiseid teadmisi õigusest tehnoloogiaga seotud hüpoteetilistes kaasustes.

After the successful completion of the course, the student:
- identifies and explains the main legal principles and obstacles in technology law;
- applies general knowledge of law to solve a hypothetical case of technology regulation.

Kursusel käsitletavad teemad hõlmavad informatsioonitehnoloogia, biotehnoloogia, kübertehnoloogia, neurotehnoloogia, tuumatehnoloogia ja robootika õiguslikku reguleerimist. Samuti pöörab kursus suurt rõhku olemasolevate regulatsioonide riskidele ja kasule, muu hulgas siseriiklkud ja rahvusvahelised põhimõtted, soft law, delegeeritud seadusandlus, sisemised reeglid ja standardid, trahvid ja ergutusvahendid.
brief description of the course in English
The topics cover a broad overview of regulating information technologies, biotechnology, cyber technology, nanotechnology, neuro-technology, nuclear technology and robotics. The course is also focused on assessing the risks and benefits of the existing regulatory approaches, including national and international legal frameworks, soft law, delegated legislation, internal rules and standards, fines and incentives.
