The aim of the course is to provide the students with a knowledge of the different aspects of the EU energy acquis, its evolution and its main outlines and framework. It seeks to equip students with the expertise needed to critically assess and navigate the intricate legal landscape that governs the energy sector in the EU.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- selgitab olulisemaid EL energia acquis’i põhimõtteid ja ülevaateid;
- arutleb, kuidas EL energia acquis on arenenud ja millised on olulisemad õigusaktid, mis seda täna reguleerivad;
- hindab, kuidas EL energia acquis on seotud ja toimib teiste rahvusvaheliste arengutega, eelkõige just seoses mere ja kliimaõiguse, keskkonnaõiguse ning ka geopoliitika kontekstis.

After completing this course the student:
- explains the main outlines and principles of the EU energy acquis;
- discusses how the EU energy acquis has been evolving and what are the main Directives and Regulations ruling it now;
- evaluates how the EU energy acquis is connected and interacts with other international legal developments, especially the law of sea and climate, environmental law, or even geopolitical aspects.
