Anda üliõpilastele teoreetilised teadmised sisekommunikatsiooni seotusest teiste organisatsiooni protsessidega, selle juhtimisest ja avalikkussuhete kujundamisest, valdkonna teoreetilistest alustest ja metoodikast ning õpetada neid teadmisi praktikas rakendama. Lisaks õpetab kursus diagnoosima ja hindama sise- ja väliskommunikatsiooni protsesside seisundit organisatsioonis ning meetodeid nende sihipäraseks kujundamiseks.

To provide students wide scope theoretical knowledge about the corporate communication management and of development of PR, its theoretical background and methods and to teach students to apply this knowledge in appropriate ways. In addition, the course gives knowledge and skills to diagnose and assess corporate communication system/processes and methods to solve/manage the problems.

Üliõpilane on omandanud teadmised:
1. organisatsioonikommunikatsiooni ja avalikussuhete teoreetiliste aluste ja põhiprintsiipide kohta;
2. oskab koostada kommunikatsiooni strateegiat ja valida sobivad taktikad, et lahendada kommunikatsiooniga seotud probleeme või saavutada püstitatud eesmärke;
3. oskab määrtaleda ja analüüsida sihtgruppe ning koostada neile sobivaid sõnumeid;
4. oskab loovalt rakendada erinevaid kommunikatsiooni meetodeid, võtteid ja vahendeid -oskab korraldada sisesuhteid, kliendisuhteid ja suhteid avalikkusega, oskab suhelda meediaga, kirjutada pressiteadet;
5. oskab analüüsida ja hinnata organisatsioonikommunikatsiooni efektiivsust, eesmärgipärasust ja strateegia kohasust.

Student has have:
1. full understanding and mastery of organizational communications functions and of the public relations principles including problem analysis, strategic planning, message development and tactical solutions;
2. ability to prepare a comprehensive communications plan addressing strategy and tactics necessary to resolve a communications problem or achieve a communications goal;
3. can define and analyse stakeholder groups and develop appropriate messages;
4. knowledge of various tactics and processes employed in organizational communication including media relations, publications, community relations, consumer relations, employee communications and online communications media;
5. understanding of methods used to evaluate and measure the effectiveness of organizational communication functions and programming.

Kommunikatsioon kui juhtimisvahend. Sisekommunikatsiooni tasandid, teabe vood ja sihtgrupid. Sihtgruppide määramine. Infovahetus ja mõjutamine. Sõnumi koostamine ja kommunikatsioonikanalite valik. Kommunikatsioonibarjäärid organisatsioonis. Suhtekorraldus organisatsioonis – sisesuhted ja avalikud suhted. Kommunikatsiooni strateegiate ja plaanide koostamine. Basic characteristics of corporate communication. The principles and functions of organizational communication – methods and means. Organizational communication structure, functions and objectives. Communication as management function. Exchange of information and affecting. Communicational barriers in organization. Communication levels, information flow and target groups and stakeholders. Defining stakeholders. Message and channels.
Strategic approaches to managing the communications. Strategic planning. Linking business and communication planning. The role of communications in company business strategy. Internal communication. Internal branding, Employer branding. Measuring the effectiveness of internal communication. Reputation management. Building, enhancing, and protecting organizational reputation. Measuring public relations programs.
Issues management. Crisis communication. Communicating change. The Impact of technology on corporate communication. Intercultural communication. Communicating with a diverse workforce.

Graded exam. The final grade is formed based on the results of three independent tasks: written exam (30%), organisation communication system analysis (40%) and the targeted outreach event project (30%).
