Praktika üldiseks eesmärgiks on rakendada ülikoolis omandatud teadmisi ja oskusi reaalses töökeskkonnas ning seeläbi mõista seoseid personalitöö, -juhtimise ja arendamise teooria ning praktika vahel.

The general aim of the speciality practice is to apply the knowledge and skills acquired in the university in a real-life working environment for establishing understanding of connections between personnel management and development theory and practice.

Praktika läbinud üliõpilane:
- oskab analüüsida personalijuhtimise valdkondade seotust organisatsiooni põhiülesannetega ning nende rolli organisatsiooni eesmärkide saavutamise protsessis;
- rakendab ülikoolis omandatud teadmisi organisatsioonis rakendatud personalijuhtimise ja arendamise strateegiate tõhususe ja mõjususe hindamiseks ning teeb ettepanekuid nende parendamiseks;
- oskab koostada sisukat analüüsi ühe personalijuhtimise ja arendamise valdkonna kohta tuginedes omandatud teoreetilistele teadmistele ja lähtudes organisatsiooni tegevusanalüüsist;
- omab meeskonnatöös osalemise kogemust.

After speciality practice student:
- can analyze the connections between personnel management and development fields and organization goals and its role in organization goal attainment processes;
- can apply theoretical and practical knowledge acquired in the university to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of organization’s personnel strategies and can propose ways for their improvement;
- can compose an analyses about one of the personnel management and development fields based on personnel management and development theories and on organization performance analyses;
- has an experience of teamwork.

Praktika sooritatakse üliõpilase poolt valitud ettevõttes (erineb üliõpilase olemasolevast töökohast).
Praktika sisuks on vähemalt nelja nädala pikkune personalitöö ja –juhtimisega seotud ülesannete täitmine valitud organisatsioonis.
Üliõpilasel tuleb lisaks praktikajuhendis kirjeldatud konkreetsete praktikaülesannete täitmisele tutvuda ettevõtte tegevuse erinevate külgedega
Praktika käigus saab üliõpilane ülevaate personalitöö korraldusest ja osast ettevõtte igapäevases töös ning personalijuhtimise seostest teiste struktuuriüksustega.
Praktikaaruanne peab sisaldama ülevaadet praktikaettevõttest, ühe personalijuhtimise valdkonna analüüsi, analüüsi praktikaülesannete täitmisest, üldist hinnangut personalitöö ja –juhtimisele ettevõttes ning praktikandi töö kirjeldust ja hinnangut sooritatud praktika kohta.
Praktikaaruanne koostatakse tuginedes erialapraktikajuhendile. Praktikaaruande sisulise osa maht on orienteeruvalt 15 -20 lehekülge.

Practice will be performed at the company selected by the student (not the student's own workplace).
During the (at least) four week practice period the student has to complete tasks concerning personnel management and practice. The student gets an understanding of staffing polices and arrangements in the company and of the importance of personnel policy and practice in company’s everyday work and how personnel management is related to performance and management of other business units.
In addition to completing speciality practice tasks, the student has to get familiar with company’s performance context.
The practice report should include an overview of the company, an analysis of the practice tasks performance and results, the overall assessment of company’s personnel policy and practice and the description of student’s role and done work and evaluation of his/her performance during the practice.
The length of the report is approximately 15-20 pages.

Upon completion of the practice experience, the supervisor at the host organization will evaluate the intern's performance using the evaluation form, the student will complete a final report and defend his or her report at a public seminar.
