Õppeaine eesmärgiks on anda üliõpilasele teadmised töönõustamise põhimõtete ja meetodite kohta. Kursuse käigus õpib üliõpilane märkama ja määratlema võimalikke probleeme ja potentsiaalseid probleemseid töötajate gruppe tööl ning rakendama sobivaid nõustamise ja sekkumise viise, mis taastaksid või parandaksid töötaja heaolu ja töö kvaliteeti.

The aim of this course is to provide an overview of counseling methods and principles of personnel services and to develop skills for designing and applying appropriate counseling and intervention methods. Students will learn to identify sources of problems and assess treatment or intervention integrity to support employee’s quality of working life.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- hindab adekvaatselt tööga seotud probleemide põhjuseid ning valib sobivaid nõustamise ja sekkumise viise;
- lahendab tulemuslikult pinge- ja konfliktsituatsioone;
- rakendab sobivaid meetmeid erivajadustega inimeste vajaduste arvestamisel ja nende toimetuleku toetamisel.

- adequately assesses the causes of work-related problems and selects appropriate methods of counseling and intervention;
- effectively resolve tense and conflict situations;
- implement appropriate measures to take into account the needs of people with special needs and support their coping.

Töönõustamise vajadused, põhimõtted, eesmärgid, tulemused. Nõustamise põhialused. Töönõustamise korraldamine. Nõustamise protsess. Suhete kujunemine nõustamisprotsessis: ülekanded ja vastuülekanded. Informeeritud valikud ja otsustamise partnerlus. Töönõustamise tõrjumise põhjused. Konsultatsioon. Supervisioon. Nõustamise eetika. Tööga seotud heaolu. Töötajate motiveerimine ja kaasamine. Destruktiivse käitumise vormid ja põhjused. Isikuvastane vägivald organisatsioonis: kiusamine, ahistamine, diskrimineerimine. Positiivne diskrimineerimine. Raskete töötajatega toimetulek. Konflikti mõiste ja kulg. Probleemide lahendamine ja läbirääkimised. Hälbiv käitumine ja töö. Hälbivuse kontseptsioonid ja psühhopatoloogilised häired. Puuetega töötajate (ja klientide) probleemidega tegelemine tööl.

Development of relationships in the counseling process: transferences and countertransferences. Informed choices and decision-making partnership. Reasons for rejecting employment counseling. Consultation. Supervision. Ethics of counseling. Work-related well-being. Motivation and involvement of employees. Forms and causes of destructive behavior. Anti-personal violence in the organization: bullying, harassment, discrimination. Positive discrimination. Dealing with difficult employees. Concept and course of conflict. Problem solving and negotiations. Deviant behavior and work. Concepts of deviance and psychopathological disorders. Dealing with the problems of disabled employees (and clients) at work.
