Arendada interdistsiplinaarset arusaama trendidest maailma majanduses, et võimaldada üliõpilastel paremini mõtestada tuleviku ärikeskkonda ning olla paremini ette valmistatud, et luua ärimudeleid, mida ainekursuse omandamise ajal ei pruugi veel eksisteerida.

To develop interdisciplinary understanding of trends in world economy, in order to allow students better grasp the business environment of the future and to be better prepared to create business models that might not exist during the time of studies.

Kursuse läbinud üliõpilane:
- kirjeldab ja analüüsib dünaamilisi protsesse maailma majanduses ja rahvusvahelistes majandussuhetes ning oskab neid siduda praktilise ärikeskkonna muutumisega;
- mõistab tähtsamate tehnoloogiatrendide tõenäolist suunda ning nendega kaasnevaid muudatusi ärimudelites.

- describes and analyses dynamic processes in world economy and in International relations and can relate them to transformations in practical business environments;
- understands and analyses probable directions of significant technology trends and how they transform business models of the future.

Globaliseerumine. Globaalsed nihked. Globaalse majanduse keerukus. Tootmisvõrgustikud. Tehnoloogia. Innovatsiooniprotsessid. Tehnoloogiline innovatsioon toodetes, tootmisprotsessides ja organisatsioonistruktuurides. Rahvusvahelised korporatsioonid ja riigid, suhete ja koostöö dünaamika. Trendide positiivsed ja negatiivsed mõjud majanduses. Tähtsamad arengutrendid majandussektorites: põllumajandus, toorained, tekstiilitööstus, autotööstus, logistika ja jaotus.

Globalisation. Global shifts. The complexity of global economy. Production networks. Technology. Innovation processes. Technology-driven innovation in products, processes and organisation structures. Corporations and states – relations and dynamics of cooperation. Positive and negative impacts of development trends. Main trends in sectors: agriculture, raw materials, textiles, automobile, logistics and distribution.
