Selgitada tarneahela juhtimise valdkonna analüütilisi raamistikke ja praktilisi väljakutseid nii tarneprotsesside taktikalisel juhtimise, ärimudeli ka kui võrgustike juhtimise tasemel. Arendatavad teadmised ja oskused loovad silla logistika juhi, ostujuhi, tarneahela juhi ja tippjuhi vaatenurkade vahel. Oluline eesmärk on sünteesida funktsionaalseid perspektiive tervikarusaamaks tarneahela protsessidest, tarneahela sooritusvõime ja kogukulude juhtimisest ning tarneahela partneritega suhete juhtimisest.

To explain supply chain management analytical concepts and practical challenges on the levels of tactical management of supply processes, business models and supply networks. The conceptual and analytical skills are aimed to harmonize the viewpoints of logistics, purchasing and CEO levels. A pertinent aim is to synthesize functional perspectives into a systematic view of supply chain processes, supply chain performance and total cost management and supplier relationship management.

Kursuse läbinud üliõpilane:
- selgitab klassikaliste ja tänapäevaste tarneahela juhtimise, varude juhtimise ja ostujuhtimise käsitluste, kontseptsioonide, mudelite ja analüüsivahendite olemust ja rakendusvõimalusi;
- analüüsib praktilist tarneahelat ja tema tegevuskeskkonda süsteemselt;
- sünkroniseerib tarneahela soorituse prioriteedid ettevõtte strateegiaga;
- tuvastab konkreetse tarneahela juhtimislikke hoobasid ja raskuspunkte;
- analüüsib kitsaskohtade ületamise võimalusi;
- hindab tarneahela riske ning riske minimeerivate kui ka tagajärgi leevendavate meetmete rakendatavust ning seab prioriteete tarneahela parendamiseks.

After completing this course, the student:
- explains the nature and applications of classical and modern supply chain management, inventory management and purchasing management concepts, models and analytical tools and relevant applicational characteristics;
- analyses practical supply chain and related environments systematically;
- synchronises supply chain performance priorities with business strategy;
- identifies main managerial levers and challenges of a particular supply chain;
- analyses the means to overcome bottlenecks;
- evaluates risks and identifies feasible pre-emptive and reactive measures, and sets priorities for supply chain performance development initiatives.
