- kirjeldab IT-projekti elutsüklit, püstitab spetsiifiliselt ärilise lähteülesande;
- on võimeline osalema äriinfosüsteemide IT-projektides.

- describes business information systems their possibilities, and industry-specific differences;
- be able to fulfill the role of the business-side client in drafting the business requirements for an information system;
- explains an IT project in the context of business development and its components;

- is capable of participating in IT projects related to business information systems.

Ülevaade äriinfosüsteemidest, nende spetsiifikast ja valdkondlikest erisustest. Millal äriarenduses tugineda turul pakutavatele äriinfosüsteemidele, millal olla valmis tellima IT-arendusi ning ette valmistama vastavaid äriarendusprojekte. Äriarenduse protsess, selles osalevad rollid ja nende vastutus; olulisemad mõisted (äriarendus, IT-arendus, projekt); IT-arenduse seosed äriarendusega; projekti läbiviimise olulisemad põhimõtted, projekti läbiviimiseks vajalikud eeldused, projekti edutegurid ja algatamise eeldused; projektile eelnevad analüüsid, arendustellimuse koostamine; projekti planeerimine, tellija ja täitja tegevuste jaotus, riskid jms. Projektide ebaõnnestumise põhjused ja abinõud.

The course provides an overview of business information systems, their specifics, and industry-related differences. It discusses when to rely on market-available business information systems in business development and when to commission IT developments and prepare corresponding business development projects. The course covers the business development process, the roles involved and their responsibilities, key concepts (business development, IT development, project), the connection between IT development and business development, key principles for project execution, preconditions necessary for project implementation, success factors, and prerequisites for project initiation. It also addresses pre-project analyses, preparation of development orders, project planning, division of activities between the client and contractor, risks, etc. Furthermore, it explores the reasons for project failures and measures to prevent them.
