course aims in Estonian
Aine eesmärk on:
- omandada ärianalüütika tasemel, mis võimaldab konstrueerida lihtsamaid rakendusi äriliste probleemide lahendamisel;
- tutvustada infotehnoloogilisi võimalusi andmete visualiseerimiseks ettevõttesisese aruandluse täiustamiseks;
- tutvustada infotehnoloogilise projekti protsesse alates lähteülesande kirjutamisest, osapoolte vajaduste selgitamisest ja nõuete kogumisest, nõuete ja kasutuslugude valideerimisest ning funktsionaalsete ja mittefunktsionaalsete nõuete seadmisest kuni lahenduse loomiseni. Selle raames käsitletakse, kuidas ettevõtete erinevates andmebaasides olevaid andmeid kasutada lahenduse loomisel (MS Power BI rakenduses).

The aim of this course is to:
- master business analytics at a level that allows you to construct simpler applications to solve business problems;
- introduce information technology opportunities for data visualization to improve internal reporting;
- introduce the processes of an information technology project, from writing the initial task, clarifying the needs of the parties and gathering requirements, validating requirements, usage stories and setting functional and non-functional requirements to creating a solution. As part of this, it is discussed how to use the data in the various databases of the companies when creating a solution (in the MS Power BI application).

Kursuse läbinud üliõpilane:
- oskab kirjeldada ärianalüütika aluskontseptsioone, põhimõtteid, meetodeid ja selgitab nende omavahelisi seoseid;
- kasutab loodava lahenduse lähteülesande kirjutamise põhimõtteid;
- teostab ettevõttesiseste osapoolte vajaduste selgitamist ja nõuete kogumist;
- mõistab relatsiooniliste andmemudelite mõistet ja selle seost ärianalüütika lahendustega;
- koostab ja valideerib lihtsamaid kasutuslugusid;
- kasutab ettevõtete erinevates andmebaasides olevaid andmeid ja loob nendevahelisi seoseid;
- rakendab andmete visualiseerimiseks (finants)andmete kasutamise infotehnoloogilist protsessi;
- koostab lihtsamaid ettevõttesiseseid visualiseeritud aruandeid MS Power BIs;
- rakendab omandatud andmete visualiseerimise oskusi ettevõtte juhtimiseks mõeldud sisemise aruandluse tõhususe tõstmiseks.

A student who completed the course:
- can describe the basic concepts, principles and methods of business analytics and explains their interrelationships;
- uses the principles of writing the initial task of the solution to be created;
- explains the needs of internal parties and collects requirements;
- understands the concept of relational data models and its connection with business analytics solutions;
- complies and validates simpler use cases;
- uses data in various databases of companies and creates relationships between them;
- implements the IT process of using (financial) data for data visualization;
- compiles simpler internal visualized reports in MS Power BI;
- applies acquired data visualization skills to increase the efficiency of internal reporting for business management.

Mudelid ja visualiseerimine. Andmevarustamise mõisted. Relatsiooniline andmemudel ja andmebaasid. Visuaalne analüütika. Ärianalüüsi protsess ja andmete ettevalmistamine. Ettevõtte kulude ja tulude analüüsivõimalused nende visualiseerimise abil; lähteülesande kirjutamise põhimõtted; (finants)andmete kasutamise infotehnoloogiline protsess; aruande kasutajate vajaduste selgitamine; nõuete (funktsionaalsete ja mittefunktsionaalsete) sõnastamine ja valideerimine; andmete kasutamine erinevatest andmebaasidest; andmete visualiseerimine töölaudadel MS Power BIs.

Models and visualization. Definitions of data provisioning. Relational data model and databases. Visual analytics. Business analysis process and data preparation. Analysis possibilities of the company's costs and revenues by means of their visualization; principles of writing a source assignment; the information technology process of using (financial) data; clarifying the needs of report users; formulation and validation of requirements (functional and non-functional); use of data from different databases; data visualization on desktops in MS Power BI.
