course aims in Estonian
Kursuse eesmärk on anda nii teoreetiline kui ka praktiline ülevaade rakkude metabolismi mudeldamisest ning disaini võimalustest, kasutades kineetilisi ja stöhhiomeetrilisi mudeleid.
course aims in English
The aim of the course is to provide both theoretical and practical overview of metabolic modeling of cellular metabolism and design possibilities using kinetic and stoichiometric models.
learning outcomes in the course in Est.
Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- mõistab rakkude kineetilise ning stöhhiomeetrilise mudeldamise põhiprintsiipe;
- tuvastab uurimistööks sobilikud mudeldamise meetodid ning kasutab neid püstitatud hüpoteeside testimiseks;
- rakendab omandatud teadmisi ja oskusi rakkude in silico disainimiseks ning metabolismi uurimiseks;
- analüüsib mudelitest saadud tulemisi ning seostab neid esialgsete uurimisküsimustega.
learning outcomes in the course in Eng.
After completing this course, the student:
- understands the basic principles of kinetic and stoichiometric modeling of cells,
- identifies suitable modeling methods for a specific research questions and uses them to test the hypotheses;
- applies the acquired knowledge and skills to in silico cell design and metabolism research;
- analyzes the results obtained from the models and relates them to the initial research question.
brief description of the course in Estonian
Kursuse raames antakse seminaride vormis ülevaade kineetilise ja stöhhiomeetrilise mudeldamise põhiprintsiipidest, õpetatakse nende mudelite konstrueerimist ning töötatakse läbi praktilised näited mudelite kasutamise võimalustest nii ensüümide kineetikas kui ka in silico rakkude disainist uute biotehnoloogiliste protsesside disainimisel.
brief description of the course in English
The course provides an overview of the basic principles of kinetic and stoichiometric modeling in the form of seminars, teaches the construction of these models and develops practical examples of the use of models in both enzyme kinetics and in silco cell design in the design of new biotechnological processes.
