Õppeaine eesmärk on anda baasteadmised mäetööde protsessidest ja masinatest.

The aim of the subject is to provide basic knowledge of mining processes and machines.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- omab ettekujutust maavarade uurimise ja kaevandamise tehnikast ning operatsioonidest;
- teab ja kirjeldab mitmesuguseid kaevandamistehnoloogiaid ning nende kasutamise võimalusi;
- oskab leida geoloogilise uuringu vahendeid, kaevandamismasinaid ja seadmeid;
- oskab kirjeldada ja ohjata peamisi mäenduslikke keskkonnaprobleeme ning kaevandamisega muudetud keskkonna korrastamise meetodeid.

After completing this course the student:
- has an idea of mineral exploration and extraction techniques and operations;
- knows various mining technologies and their application possibilities;
- can find geological survey equipment, mining machinery and equipment;
- can describe and control the main mining environmental problems and the methods of tidying up the environment changed by mining.

Maavarade proovimine kaevandite ja puurimise teel ning ja tehniliste katsete abil.
Maavarade kaevandamise moodused ja viisid: ava- ja allmaakaevandamine, auk-, riba- ja väljakkaevandamine, kamber- ja lankkaevandamine ning aluskorrakivimite kaevandamise tehnoloogiad. Mõju keskkonnale
Mäetööde protsessid: kaevandamisvälja avamine, kivimite läbimine, kaevise koristamine, veekõrvaldus.
Kaeveõõnte toestamise, altkaevandatud maa hoidmise ja karjääride korrastamise alused. Mäerõhu juhtimine ning kaeveõõnte püsivustingimused ja -arvutused.
Kivimite lõhkamise, mehaanilise raimamise ja purustamise alused.
Mäemasinad ja -seadmed, nende liigitamise alused. Liikurmasinad ja statsionaarsed seadmed. Raimamise, tarimise ja veo ning tõste masinad. Toestamise, tuulutamise ning veeärastuse seadmed. Puurmasinad proovimiseks ja oherdamiseks.
Masinate ja seadmete valiku kriteeriumid ja lähtearvutused – nõutavad parameetrid vastavalt kivimite ja kaevise omadustele ning mäetöö tingimustele. Allmaakeskkonna erinõuded mäemasinatele. Mäetööks ja geoloogiliseks proovimiseks sobivad ehitusmasinad ning nõuded neile.

Exploration for minerals by mining and drilling and by technical tests.
Ways and methods of mining mineral resources: open and underground mining, hole, strip and field mining, chamber and sparse mining, and bedrock mining technologies. Impact on the environment
Mining processes: opening of a mining field, passing through rocks, clearing a mine, water disposal.
Bases for supporting excavation cavities, maintaining excavated land and quarrying. Rock pressure control and excavation cavity stability conditions and calculations.
Bases for rock blasting, mechanical blasting and crushing.
Mining machinery and equipment, bases for their classification. Mobile machinery and stationary equipment. Slurrying, grazing and transporting and lifting machinery. Supporting, ventilating and dewatering equipment. Drilling machines for testing and reaming.
Criteria and initial calculations for the selection of machinery and equipment - required parameters according to the properties of rocks and ore and mining conditions. Special requirements for the underground environment for mining machinery. Construction machinery and requirements for mining and geological testing.
Methods for calculating the productivity of machines.
