The aim of this course is to provide overview and practical experiences on mining sites, operation and equipment in Estonia.

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- loetleb Eestis kaevandatavaid maavarasid;
- kirjeldab kaevandamisel kasutatavaid tehnoloogiad ja masinaid;
- tunneb peamisi kaevise töötlemise viise ning oskab kirjeldada, kuidas tekib lõpp-produkt;
- mõistab tekkivaid keskkonnariske ja nende leevendamist;
- on omandanud esmased välitöö meetodid ja arendanud meeskonnatöö oskust.

- names the mineral resources to be mined in Estonia;
- describes the technologies and machines used in mining;
- knows the main ways of processing the ore and describes how the final product is formed;

Kursus toimub välitöö formaadis TalTechi õppejõudude juhendamisel erinevates karjäärides ja kaevandustes. Savi, fosforiidi, lubjakivi, põlevkivi, liiva, kruusa, turba kaevandamine. Maavarade kaevandamine ja kaevandamise eripärad sõltuvalt mäendustingimustest, geoloogiast ja keskkonnast. Kaevandamise mõju keskkonnale ja kuidas on võimalik mõju leevendada. Kasutatavate masinatega lähem tutvumine ja eripärade selgeks tegemine. Kaevise töötlemisega seonduvad lahendused.

The course takes place in a fieldwork format under the guidance of TTalTech lecturers in different careers and mines. Mining of clay, phosphorite, limestone, oil shale, sand, gravel, peat. Mining and mining characteristics depending on mining conditions, geology and environment. Impact of mining on the environment and how the impact can be mitigated. A closer look at the machines used and clarification of the specifics. Excavation processing solutions.
