1) tutvustada üliõpilasele valitud eriala sisu ja õppekava struktuuri ning olulisemaid erialaaineid,
2) tutvustada soojusenergeetika, keemiatööstuse ning keskkonnakaitse valdkondade aktuaalseid probleeme ja arengusuundi,
3) anda ülevaade soojusenergeetika, keemiatehnika ja keskkonnatehnoloogia ühistest üldpõhimõtetest,
4) anda ülevaade tulevastest võimalikest töökohtadest,
5) tutvustada ekskursiooni korras energiatööstuse, keemiatööstuse, keemia-uurimisasutuse ja/või keskkonnakaitselist tehnoloogiat rakendava ettevõtte tööd,
6) õpetada tunnetama teadmiste ja erialase tegevuse rolli ja tagajärgi ühiskonnas.

1) to introduce students to the content, curriculum and most important courses of this program of study,
2) to introduce real problems and developmental trends in the fields of thermal energetics, industrial chemistry and environmental protection,
3) to give an overview of the general principles common to thermal energetics, chemical engineering and environmental technology,
4) to give an overview of potential future job opportunities,
5) to introduce the work of companies that use industrial energy technology, industrial chemical technology environmental protection technology and chemical research institutions through field trips,
6) to teach an understanding of the role and effects of knowledge and activity in this field on society

Üliõpilane:
1) omab süsteemset arusaama soojusenergeetika, keemia- ja keskkonnatehnoloogia ühistest üldpõhimõtetest,
2) omab ettekujutust oma erialase karjääri, selle kujundamise, töökohtade ja töö iseloomu kohta,
3) omab ettekujutust õppekava olulisematest eriainetest ja oskab otstarbekalt valida valikaineid,
4) tunnetab oma eriala kohta, tähtsust ja vajadust ühiskonnas,
5) on tutvunud erialaga seotud ettevõttega,
6) tunnetab erialase tegevuse teaduslike, eetiliste ja ühiskondlike aspektide arvestamise vajadust.

The student will:
1) have a systematic understanding of the common general principles of thermal energetics and chemical and environmental technology;
2) have a vision of a career in his/her field, the development of such a career, job opportunities and the nature of the work;
3) have a vision of the most important courses in the program and knows how to choose appropriate elective courses;
4) understand the role, importance and necessity of their field in society;
5) have become acquainted with companies in their field;
6) understand the need of taking into account scientific, ethical and social aspects related to activities in this field.

Esitatakse ülevaade soojusenergeetika, keemia- ja keskkonnakaitsetehnoloogia olemusest, arengust, nüüdisseisundist ja tulevikuväljavaadetest. Tutvustatakse eriala rolli ning tähtsust Eesti majanduses ja laiemalt ühiskonnas. Antakse ülevaade eriala õppekavast ja õppeainetest, et kujundada süsteemne tervikpilt erialast ning näidata seoseid õpetatavate ainete vahel. Antakse soovitused valikainete valikuks. Tutvustatakse erialaga seotud teadus/arendustööd TTÜ-s. Korraldatakse vähemalt 2 ekskursiooni erialaga seotud ettevõtetesse.
brief description of the course in English
An overview of the nature, development, current state and future outlook of thermal energetics and chemical and environmental technology will be presented. The role and importance of this field for the Estonian economy and wider society will be introduced. An overview of the curriculum and courses will be given to help develop a systematic and complete picture of the field and to show relationships between courses. Research and development work at TUT in this field will be introduced. At least 2 field trips to companies in this field will be organized.
