• To introduce the solid wastes analysis and assessment of suitability for landfilling.
• To introduce principles of air pollution distribution modelling.
• To introduce the wastewater treatment processes and principles of compiling the wastewater treatment scheme.
• To deepen and to evolve acquired knowledge and skills into chemical process design.
• To design technological process models using computer software.

• tunneb tahkejäätmete analüüsi ja prügilakõlblikkuse hinnangu läbiviimise protseduure;
• oskab kasutada mudeleid õhusaaste hindamiseks;
• oskab teostada tehnoloogilisi katseid;
• oskab kasutada kaasaegseid analüüsiseadmeid;
• oskab koostada tehnoloogiaprotsessi skeemi ning sisestada lähteandmeid;
• oskab kasutades arvutiprogrammi koostada üld- ja seadmebilansse ning teostada tasuvusanalüüsi.

The student who has accomplished the course with a positive result:
• is familiar with solid wastes analysis and evaluation procedure on suitability for landfilling;
• is able to implement the models for air pollution assessment;
• is able to carry out technological tests
• is able to operate up-to-date analytical instruments;
• can draw the process block flow diagram and enter the initial data;
• can compile general and units’ balances and perform the profitability analysis using software.

Tahke jäätmemassi analüüs (analüütilise niiskuse määramine, tuhasisalduse määramine, puistemassi määramine, sõelanalüüs). Jäätmete prügilakõlblikkuse hinnang (tahkete jäätmete leostustest ja leostusvee analüüs). Reovee töötlusprotsesside uurimine ja uurimise tulemustel põhineva puhastusskeemi koostamine. Õhusaaste leviku hindamine Airviro mudeli abil. Tehnoloogiaprotsesside projekteerimine arvutiprogrammiga “SuperPro Designer”: munitsipaalreovee käitlus, sünteetilise ravimi lähteaine tootmine.

Solid wastes analysis (determination of analytical moisture, ash content, bulk weight, sieve analysis). Determination of solid wastes acceptance for landfilling (solid wastes leaching test and leachate analysis). Study of wastewater treatment processes and compiling a treatment scheme based on the results of the research. Assessment of air pollution distribution using Airviro model program. Process design using software “SuperPro Designer”: municipal wastewater treatment, production of a synthetic pharmaceutical intermediate.
