Suhteskaalal paarikaupa võrdlustel põhineva otsustusanalüüsi valdkonna alaste oskuste omandamine tasemel, mis on piisav magistritöös ja korporatiivses tavakeskkonnas võrdleva analüüsi läbiviimiseks ning kust on võimalik jätkata iseseisva õppimisega. Kursuse käigus õpitakse paarikaupa võrdlustel põhinevaid otsustusmeetodeid, tehakse praktilisi harjutusi vastavate tehniliste oskuste omandamiseks ning kinnistatakse omandatud teadmised rakenduste ja kaasuste abil.

Acquiring the skills for decision analysis based on pairwise comparisons at a level which is sufficient for undertaking a comparative analysis in a Master’s thesis and in corporate environment, and which provides the basis for the students to continue with independent learning. The course covers decision analysis methods, supported by practical exercises to acquire technical implementation skills, validated by mini-projects, applications, and use cases.

Kursuse läbinud üliõpilased:
- oskavad tuvastada konkreetse valikuülesande põhitüüpi ja hinnata ning vajadusel lihtsustada valikuülesande keerukust, valida keerukusele vastavat otsustusanalüüsi meetodit;
- oskavad valikuülesande jaoks koostada otsustusmudelit, hinnata mudeli tundlikkust, teha tulemustest lõppjäreldusi;
- oskavad rakendada grupiotsustust;
- oskavad valikuülesande otsustusmudelit dokumenteerida ja kaitsta.

On completion of the course, the students:
- can identify the main type of the choice task at hand and are able to evaluate and, if necessary, to simplify the choice task complexity;
- can create a decision model for a choice task, evaluate the consistency of the model, and draw conclusions from the model results;
- can carry out group decision-making;
- can document and defend a decision model.

Teoreetiline raamistik: Saaty AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process), AHP kooskõlaindeks (consistency index) ning tundlikkuse analüüs, Eksperthinnangute analüütika (mustrid, rikked), Saaty AHP meetodi teaduslik kriitika ning edasiarendused
Kasutatav tarkvara: Microsoft Excel (või analoogne), AHPcalc, AHP Online System - AHP-OS, Chalmers SDG Impact Assessment Tool, R pakett "ahp" ja paketi ahp/YAML andmeformaat
Rakendused ja kaasused: Sissejuhatus subjektiivusesse: reisimise maitse-eelistused; Hindamiskriteeriumid ja koefitsiendid Eestis IT sektori hangetes; Lõputöö olulisus IT sektorile; Teadustöö olulisus Eestile; MiC 2025; EU Missions; Sustainable Development Goals; Boonus: otsuste seotus ja ajaline nime: MIT Beer Game; Muud kursusetööd.

Theoretical framework: Saaty AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process), AHP consistency index ning sensitivity analysis, analytics of expert opinion (patterns, inconsistencies), newer scientific critique and enhancements of Saaty AHP
Software: Microsoft Excel (or similar), AHPcalc, AHP Online System - AHP-OS, Chalmers SDG Impact Assessment Tool, R package "ahp" ja ahp/YAML data format
Applications and use cases: Introduction to subjective decisions: travel preferences, evaluation criteria and coefficients in Estonian IT sector procurements; The importance of thesis to IT sector; The importance of research to Estonia; MiC 2025; EU Missions; Sustainable Development Goals, the interconnectedness of decisions and time lag: MIT Beer Game; Other applications and cases.
