Õppeaine annab ülevaate erinevatest ühiskonna- ja sotsiaalteaduslikest teooriatest ning muudatuste juhtimise filosoofilistest ja praktilistest lähtekohtadest, mida muudatuste juhtimisel praktikas rakendatakse muudatuse juhtimise erinevatel etappidel. Õppeaine eesmärk on anda üliõpilasele arusaam ühiskondlike protsesside komplekssusest, fookusega muudatuste juhtimisele tervise- ja sotsiaalvaldkonnas (sh protsesside omavahelised seosed, tugevused, nõrkused, barjäärid).

The course will give an overview about societal and social science theories and philosophical as well as practical principles of change management explored during different stages of change management in practice. The aim of the course is to give an understanding about the complexity of societal processes with the focus on change management in health and social areas (including the interconnections between different processes, strengths, weaknesses, barriers).

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- analüüsib tervishoiuvaldkonna probleeme ühiskonna- ja sotsiaalteaduslike teooriate kontekstis ning vlib muudatuse läbiviimiseks sobivaima teoreetilise käsitluse;
- mõistab strateegilise planeerimise tähtsust, hindab ja analüüsib tegevuskeskkonda ning selles toimivaid indiviide ja võtmeisikuid ning neid mõjutavaid tegureid;
- koostab tervisevaldkonna projekte, hindab erinevate rahastustaotlusteks vajalike tegevuste ulatust, mahtu ja ellurakendatavust.

After completing the course, the student:
- analyses the problems in healthcare sector in the context of societal and social science theories and chooses the most appropriate theoretical approach for planned change;
- understands the importance of strategic planning, assesses and analyses environment and individuals and key persons within this environment and in the context of influencing factors;
- compiles healthcare projects, assesses the scope, volume and applicability of different funding activity.

Aine raames käsitletakse valitud ühiskonnateooriaid, sh sotsiaalsete praktikate teooria, riskiühiskond jne., samuti teemasid nagu strateegiline planeerimine ja juhtimine, rahvusvaheline rahastus ja projektijuhtimine, demokraatia tervise(kriisi)s, auditooriumid ja kommunikatsioon, disainmõtlemine ja teenuste disain, meditsiinisotsioloogia ja -antropoloogia. Kursuse raames õpitakse tundma Kotteri muudatuste juhtimise protsessimudelit ning vaadeldakse antud mudeli kontekstis erinevaid tervisevaldkonna muudatuste rakendamisvõimalusi. Õppeaine on oluliseks sisendiks e-tervise õppekava häkatoni ja Semstriporjekti ainete läbimiseks, sest kujundab teoreetilised teadmised praktilise tegevuse sooritamiseks.
brief description of the course in English
The course will introduce selected societal theoretical concepts, including (but not limited to) social practice theory, risk society etc., but also topics like strategic planning and management, international funding, project management, democracy in health (crisis), autitoriums and communication, design thinking in service design, medical sociology and -anthropology. The course will introduce Kotter's process model for change management and how to implement it in the context of different healthcare changes. The course is an important input for Difgital Health curriculum's hackathon and Semester project's course, due to its focus on theoretical knowledge and background to implement practical activities.
