Õppeaine eesmärk on luua arusaam tervishoiu infosüsteemide koosvõime (interoperability) vajadusest seoses tervishoiu kvaliteedijuhtimise eesmärkidega. Edukas tervishoiu kvaliteedijuhtimise süsteem toetub palju andmete kodeerimisele ja andmete kvaliteedile.
Kursuse esimene osa loob arusaama erinevate kodeerimis- ja koosvõimesüsteemide eesmärkidest, ülesehitusest ja rakendamisest tervishoiu infosüsteemides. Samuti katab see erinevaid koosvõime standardeid, mis põhinevad kodeerimise süsteemidel. Kursuse teine osa katab tervishoiu kvaliteedijuhtimise põhialuseid ning koosvõime rolli edukate kvaliteedijuhtimise süsteemide väljatöötamisel tervishoius.

The objectives of the course is:
Build an understanding of the need for health care information systems’ interoperability in connection with healthcare quality management goals. The success of a good quality management system in healthcare relies heavily on data coding and data quality.
The first part of the course provides an understanding of the objectives, structure and applications of different coding and interoperability systems in health care information systems. It also covers the relevant interoperability standards, which are based on the coding systems. The second part of the course covers the basics of healthcare quality management systems and the role of interoperability of healthcare information systems in developing successful quality management systems in health care.

Tudengil on arusaam ning on omandanud:
1. Meditsiinilise sõnavara ja mõisted andmete kogumisel ja kodeerimisel;
2. Erinevad kodeerimis- ja koosvõimesüsteemid ja nende kasutamise eesmärgid;
3. Diagnooside kodeerimine;
4. Kaebuste, sümptoomitde, protseduuride ja teenuste kodeerimine;
5. Kodeerimisüsteemide kasutamine kvaliteedijuhtimises ja kliinilises uurimistöös;
6. Sematiline, protsessi ja organisatsiooniline koosvõime;
7. Kodeerimis- ja koosvõime süsteemide integreeritus integreerimine kasutusel olevatesse infosüsteemidesse.
8. Baasteadmised tervishoiu kvaliteedijuhtimisest.
9. Kodeerimissüsteemide ja koosvõime roll tervishoiu kvaliteedijuhtimises.

1. Medical vocabulary and concepts in data collection and coding;
2. Different coding and interoperability systems and objectives of their usage;
3. Coding of diagnoses, complaints, symptoms, procedures and services;
4. Usage of coding systems in quality management and clinical research;
5. Semantic, process and organizational interoperability;
6. Integration of coding and interoperability standards into existing information systems.
7. Basics of healthcare quality management.
8. Role of different coding systems and interoperability in healthcare quality management.
