Anda tudengitele teadmised meditsiinis kasutatavate biosignaalide registreerimise füüsikaliste ja keemiliste aluste mõistmisest. Tutvustada erinevaid signaaliregistreerimise ja -analüüsi töötlemise meetodeid ja aparatuuri. Selgitada erinevaid meditsiinis kasutatavaid kuvamismeetodeid. Õpetada andmevoo kulgu alates biosignaali registreerimisest kuni visuaalselt mõistetava kujutise esitamiseni.
Praktiline tutvumine erinevate signaalitöötlus- ja kuvamismeetoditega tervishoiuasutuses. Ülevaate andmine piltide, graafikute ja pildiseerijate arhiveerimisest ja taasesitamise alustest. Tutvustada erinevate signaali- ja pilditöötluste meetodite kasutamist lähtudes kliinilisest küsimusest või uuritavast elundkonnast. Samuti tuua välja meetodite kasutamise vastunäidustused meditsiinis.

To give students knowledge about physical and chemical biosignals and their registration. To introduce signal registration and analysis processing methods and equipment. Giving overview of imaging methods in health care. To teach differents steps of data flow starting from the registration of biosignal to presentation of image in user understandable mode.
Practical introduction to different imaging and signal processing methods in health care institutions. Introduction to basic models of image, graphs and image series filing, saving and presentation systems in health care. To introduce the use of different signal and image processing methods from the point of view of the clinical quesiton or examined organ system. Also to give overview of the contraindications of the use of diagnostic methods in medicine.

Õppe edukalt läbinu on pädev meditsiinis kasutatavate biosignaalide registreerimise füüsikalistes ja keemilistes alustes ning nende kasutamise näidustustes meditsiinis. Samuti tutvunud signaaliregistreerimise ja -analüüsi aparatuuriga.
Õppeaine edukalt läbinud üliõpilane 1) on omandanud meditsiiniliste signaaliregistreerimis- ja kuvamismeetodite füüsikalised alused, 2) teab meditsiiniliste signaalide ja ülesvõtete vaatamise, arhiveerimise ja edastamise standardeid, 3) teab DICOM ja mitte-DICOM ülesvõttete tähendust, 4) tunneb meditsiiniliste ülesvõtete, pildiseeriate ja graafikute esitlustingimusi, 5) oskab erinevaid kuvamismodaliteete ja elektroonseid terviseandmeid integreerida, 6) tunneb kuvamisel kaugtöö ja virtuaalse organisatsiooni tööprintsiipe.

A student having successfully completed the studies has competences in the physical and chemical bases of registration of biosignals used in medicine and knows the indications of use of biosignals in medicine. Also have got an overview of different devices registering and analysing signals.
A student having successfully completed the studies: 1) has acquired basic knowledge of physical bases of signal registration and imaging methods; 2) has knowledge about the standards of viewing, filing and sharing of medical images, image series and graphs, 3) knows the principles of DICOM and non-DICOM images, 4) has knowledge about presentation of medical images, 5) is able to integrate different imaging modalities and electronical health data, 6) has principal knowledge about using remote working environment and virtual organisation.

Meditsiinilise diagnostilise aparatuuri poolt registreeritavate signaalide füüsikaliste ja keemiliste aluste tutvustamine. Erinevused ja sarnasused füsiloogiliste protsesside ja anatoomiliste kujutiste registreerimisel. Müra ja signaali kvaliteedi suhte optimeerimine. Signaalide salvestus- ja taasesituskeskkonnad, arhiveerimine. Sissejuhatus haiglas kasutatavasse diagnostilisse aparatuuri: radioloogia (röntgen, ultraheli, magnetresonantstomograafia, nukleaarmeditsiin, hübriidkuvamine), elektrofüsioloogia (EKG, EEG, EMG jt.), endoskoopia, labor ja patoloogia. Diagnostilise aparatuuri kasutamise kliinilised näidustused ja vastunäidustused. Meditsiinis kasutatavate signaalide töötlemise standardid.
Tervishoius kasutatavad kuvamise valdkonnad – radioloogia, endoskoopia, mikroskoopia, fotograafia. Meditsiinilises kuvamises kasutatavad standardid – DICOM, mitte-DICOM, teised pildi- ja videoesitlusprogrammid. Piltide arhiveerimise ja kommunikatsiooni süsteem (PAKS), radioloogia infosüsteem (RIS), endoskoopia infosüsteem, patoloogia infosüsteem. Piltide rekonstruktsiooniprogrammid – multiplanaarne rekonstruktsioon (MPR), maksimaalse intensiivsuse projektsioon (MIP), kolmemõõtmeline esitusviis (volume rendering) jt. Meditsiiniliste ülesvõtete vaatamise nõuded – monitorid, vaatamiskeskkond, ergonoomika. Pildivaatuskeskkonna kvaliteedimõõtmised.

Introduction to diagnostic equipment used in hospitals: radiology (X-ray, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, hybrid imaging), elektrophysiology (ECG, EEG, EMG, etc.), endoskopy, laboratory and pathology equipment. Clinical indications and condtraindications of the use of diagnostic modalities.
Quality, archiving and mining of signals, working standards in medicine, and analysis of time series.
Image systems in health care services: radiology, endoscopy, microscopy, photography, etc.. Standards used in medical imaging: DICOM, non-DICOM and other imaging and demonstration programmes. Picture archiving and communication system (PACS), radiology information system (RIS), endoscopy information system, pathology information system. Image reconstruction programmes – multiplane reconstruction (MPR), maximal intensive projection (MIP), volume rendering, etc. Requirements of observation of medical images – monitors, viewing environment, ergonomics. Quality measurement of image viewing environment.
