Kursuse läbinud üliõpilane:
- Oskab metoodiliselt koostada valitud valdkonna hetkeseisu ja uusimte arengute (state-of-the-art) ülevaadet.
- Oskab püstitada eelnevas punktis koostatud ülevaate põhjal argumenteeritud lähteülesannet.
- On koostanud kirjaliku aruande oma uuringutest ning esitlenud töö edenemist seminaril.
Valminud aruande materjali kasutatakse tulevases magistritöös.

Having passed the course a student:
- Is able to compile a state-of-the art review of selected area/field in a systematic way.
- Is able to define research or engineering problem statment and requirement specification based on state-of-the art review.
- Has prepared a written report and presentations for the progress seminars.
The material gathered will be utilised in the master thesis.

Eriõppes omandatud teadmiste praktiline rakendamine elektronsüsteemide ja nende oluliste koostisosade väljatöötamisel individuaal- ja/või rühmatööna. Süsteemi ja selle plokkide struktuuri ning skeemilahenduste leidmine, komponentide valik ning dimensioonimine ja mikrotehnoloogiline realiseerimine, reaalajas funktsioneerimine. Näiteid temaatikast: infohõive, teaduseksperiment, mõõtmine ja testimine, biomeditsiin ja elukeskkond, audio-, video-, auto- ja sideelektroonika, mikrosüsteemitehnika jne. Iseseisev töö haarab kooskõlastatult lõputöö juhendajaga konkreetse eskiislahenduse väljapakkumist ja vastava aruande koostamist ning esitamist. Võimalikud välislektorite erialaloengud.
brief description of the course in English
The over the special courses obtained knowledge will be applied in design process of electronic and embedded systems during individual and/or group work. The objectives of the work are to design the hard- or software or combined solutions, the preliminary choice and determination of components and in major case the realization in real time applications. The results will be presented in form of report.. The individual research work finalizes in cooperation with the tutor of the theses in preliminary block-scheme modeling or realization algorithm of the system.
