This course gives an overview of radio frequency (RF) electronics, special features of RF circuits and principal limitations on their performance.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- teab raadiosaatjate- ja vastuvõtjate põhitüüpe, tööpõhimõõteid ning neid seadmeid iseloomustavaid parameetreid;
- teab raadioseadmete põhisõlmi, nende üldist tööpõhimõtet ja neid iseloomustavaid peamisi parameetreid, oskab mainitud sõlmede tööd analüüsida;
- oskab algtasemel arvutada ja disainida lihtsamaid sõlmi, nt sobitusahelaid ja filtreid;
- oskab kasutada laboriseadmeid lihtsamate raadiosageduslike mõõtmiste läbiviimiseks.

After completing this course, the student:
- knows main types of radio receivers and transmitters incl. their working principles and main parameters;
- knows main nodes of radio devices incl. their working principles and main parameters, also knows how to analyze their work;
- knows, at the beginner level, how to design and calculate simpler circuits like matching networks and filters;
- can use lab equipment to perform simpler RF measurements.

Hajuparameetrid, allika ja koormuse sobitamine, Smithi diagramm, hargmikud ja jagajad, RS võimendid, ostsillaatorid, segustid, sagedusmuundurid ja –süntesaatorid, modulaatorid ja demodulaatorid, RS filtrid, raadiovastuvõtjad- ja saatjad, nende tüübid ja põhiparameetrid.
