Anda ülevaade digitaal loogika komponentidest protsessoris.
Anda ülevaade arvuti erinevatest mälu seadmetest.
Selgitada, kuidas on organiseeritud andmevahetus mikroarvutis erinevate komponentide vahel.
Anda ülevaade sisend/väljund seadmetest ja nende funktsioneerimise põhimõtetest.
Anda ülevaade spetsiaalsete digitaalseadmete realiseerimise võimalustest kasutades kaasaegseid tehnoloogiaid.

To give knowledge about computer processor organization and different architectures;
To give knowledge about the digital logic devices;
To give knowledge about computer memory devices;
To explane how information is transferred in micro computer between the different devices;
To give knowledge about computer input/output devices;
To give knowledge about diferent realization posibilitys of special digital devices.
To give knowledge about parallel computer architectures;

Aine läbinud üliõpilane:
- oskab võrrelda erinevaid protsessorite arhitektuure;
- oskab koostada loogikaskeeme;
- oskab analüüsida andmevahetust mikroarvutis;
- tunneb erinevaid arvuti mäluseadmeid;
- teab erinevaid sisend/väljund seadmeid.
- omab ülevaadet arvuti riistvara realiseerimise võimalustest erinevates kasutus valdkondades.
- tunneb arvuti veakindluse aluseid.

Having finished the study of the subject a student has to be able:
-able to compare different processor architectures;
-able to design logic circuits;
-able to analyze exhange of information in microcomputer;
-is familar with the different computer memorys;
-knows different computer pheripherals;
-is familar with the different realization posibilitys of special digital devices;
-has a knowlige of parallel computer architectures;

Protsesso: käsu täitmise tsükkel, struktuur, erinevad arhitektuurid. Potsessori komponendid: kombinatsioonskeemid ja järjestikskeemid.
Arvuti mälu: klassifikatsioon, hierarhia, tehnoloogiad, mälu organiseerimine.
Käsustik ja adresseerimine: käsuformaadid, käsusüsteem, adresseerimise viisid, virtuaalmälu.
Mikroarvuti riistvara: arhitektuur, siinid, andmevahetus, mikroarvuti teised komponendid, arvuti jõudluse suurendamine.
Sisend/väljund seadmed: klaviatuur, printerid, kuvarid, puuteekraanid, hiir, analoog liides.
Spetsiaalne riistvara: realiseerimine, kasutusvaldkonnad.
Arvutite veakindlus: füüsilised rikked, riistvara testimine, hästi testitav riistvara, veakindlad koodid.

Processor: fetch-decode-execute cycle, processor structure, different achitectures. Processor components: Combinational circuits and sequential circuits;
Computer memory: classification, hierarhy, memory technologies, memory organization;
Instruction set and addressing: instructon formats, instruction set, addressing modes, virtual memory;
Microcomputer hardware: architecture, buses, data transfer, microprocessor supporting components, computer performance increasing;
Input/output devices: keyboard, printers, monitors, touch screens, mouse, AD and DA converters.
Special hardware: realization, application area;
Computers and reliaility: failures of system, hardware testing, error-detecting codes;

Eksam on kirjalik, igale üliõpilasele antakse kolm individuaalset
Teoreetilist küsimust aine erinevatest teemadest. Eksami eelduseks on kolm varem teostatud laboratoorset tööd.

The control of knowledges takes place in examinations at the end of a term. For the getting a permission to an examination it is necessary to make three lab experiments. Lab experiments are carried out by an assistent. In examination are checked theoretical knowledges about computers and computer components .
