Üliõpilased õpivad tundma elektriseadmete teooria põhitõdesid ning rakendama neid mitmesuguste praktiliste ülesannete lahendamisel. Aine eesmärk on luua tingimused elektriseadmetele diagnostika ja ekspertiisi tegemiseks ning valmisolek ära tunda ja sõnastada rikete õigeaegse tuvastamise võimalusi, tekkimis- ja süvenemisprotsesse.

Students will learn about the basics of electrical equipment theory and apply them to solving a variety of practical tasks. The aim of this course is to create conditions for conducting diagnostics and expertise on electrical equipment, and establish readiness to recognize and formulate opportunities for timely detection of failures, processes of occurrence and deterioration.

Õppeaine läbinud üliõpilane:
- liigtab elektriseadmeid ja kirjeldab nende kasutusalasid, ehitust, tööpõhimõtteid ning soojenemist;
- oskab kasutada õppe- ja teatmekirjandust;
- analüüsib elektriseadmete (masinate, trafode, muundurite, kaitseseadmete) töökindlust, kirjeldades võimalikke peamisi tõrkepõhjusi;
- tuvastab võimalikke rikkeid, kasutades põhilisi elektriseadmete diagnostika viise;
- käitab elektriseadmeid.

After completing this course, the student:
- classifies electrical equipment and describes their applications, construction, operating principles and heating;
- is able to use educational and reference literature;
- analyzes the reliability of electrical equipment (machines, transformers, converters, protective devices), describing the possible main causes of failures;
- detects possible malfunctions using basic methods of diagnostics of electrical equipment;
- operates electrical equipment.

Tutvustatakse elektriseadmete teooria aluseid: kommutatsiooniprotsessi. Kaitse- ja kommutatsiooniseadmed: lihtseadmed, sulavkaitsmed, kaitselülitid, võimsuslülitid, kontaktorid, pooljuhtlülitid ja -releed. Tajurid ja andurid: otstarve ja liigitus, pidevatoimelised, induktiivsed, mahtuvuslikud ja potentsiomeetertajurid. Asendi-, kiirus-, kiirendus-, jõu-, momendi-, temperatuuri- jm andurid. Elektriseadmete füüsiliste ja elektriliste suuruste mõõtmine. Elektrimasinate ja trafode olulisemad tööea mõjurid ja tõrkepõhjused. Laagrite tüübid ja probleemid. Elektroonikaseadmete töökindlus ja rikked, sujuvkäivitid, sagedusmuundurid. Diagnostika, käit.
brief description of the course in English
The foundations of electrical equipment theory are introduced: the commutation process. Protection and switching equipment: simple devices, fuses, circuit breakers, power switches, contactors, semiconductor switches and relays. Measuring transducers and sensors: purpose and classification, continuous-action, inductive, capacitive and potentiometer sensors. Position, speed, acceleration, force, torque, temperature and other sensors. Measurement of physical and electrical values of electrical equipment. The most important service life factors and failure causes of electrical machines and transformers. Types and problems of
bearings. Reliability and breakdowns of electronic devices, soft starters, frequency converters. Diagnostics, operation.
